"Okay quiet down. Today we have a new transfer student, please treat him like you would any other classmate."
The masculine voice of the teacher declared with boredom evident in his tone.
This gained the students attention and everyone turned their head towards the door that creaked open with a sense of eerie.
That's when mostly everyone eyes widened in fear and some in shock.
Hakai took a single step within the door frame.
His presence alone filled the room with a suffocating aura that flooded the natural survival instincts of everyone within.
Hakai took another step towards the teacher's podium.
Hatred and sorrow infiltrated the minds of the weak willed, forcing them to scream out in terror. An illusory visage of a dragon beyond comprehension appeared to be clinging onto his body.
Hakai then took his few final steps and stood next to the teacher's podium, aware of the effect his presence had on everyone in the classroom.
"Hakai Metsu."
The curt proclamation left everyone speechless including the teacher, though no one could muster up the courage to ask anything.
Hakai took this opportunity to find his seat, deliberately slow walking down an aisle between the row of desks, ignoring the fearful glances made towards him.
The moment he sat down in the far back left corner of the classroom, everyone began whispering about the situation and the uncanny presence of Hakai.
"Hakai right?, the names Jyun. Nice to meet you"
A fellow classmate proclaimed while standing in front of Hakai's desk, a wide smile plastered on the male student face in a friendly manner.
"Likewise."
Hakai proclaimed curtly with a glance that nearly made Jyun shiver, feeling the sheer magnitude of Hakai's power by that simple gesture.
"So...where are you from?-"
Jyun asked with genuine curiosity though his tone made it clear that he was hesitant to ask, not wanting to provoke Hakai.
Unfortunately, before Hakai could answer the question, another more bulkier male student came up behind Jyun and shoved him to the side, enough to make the boy fall down.
This had made Hakai show just the tiniest bit of emotion and that was curiosity, evident by the subtle raise of an eyebrow which had gone unnoticed by the entire classroom except one person.
"You think trying to befriend the new kid will save your ass?. Damn, you're more stupid than I thought"
The bulky student proclaimed with an air of arrogance and over confidence in his tone, turning to face Hakai with an attempted scary expression.
"Listen new kid. I don't care about the shit hole you crawled out of-"
The student began in a rant but was immediately silence by Hakai slowly standing up, then suddenly grabbing him by the face with an inescapable iron grip.
"Shut up."
Hakai stated in a commanding tone though what sealed the deal was the lack of emotion, as if it was simply dealing with an annoying insect.
Hakai's ocean blue eyes stared deeply into his classmate grey eyes with murderous intent, though to further reiterate his command, Hakai had began putting more strength into his grip.
"OKAY IM SORRY!"
The scream of the student had reached the other classrooms just as Hakai finally released his grip.
"Enough! It's time for the mock battles."
The teacher proclaimed with more bass into his tone, slightly shocking the students who eventually followed him outside to the open field in front of the academy.
"Okay. Hakai you'll be paired against Maya our top student. Remember y'all do not got overboard, this is simply a way to gauge your strengths and weaknesses in real combat"
The teacher explained with an exhausted sigh from the earlier situation in the classroom, earning confirming nods from the students.
Hakai was the first to get into position and stood with a blank expression, observing as the girl name Maya began walking to her position on the field.
Maya was quite the tall girl with a stature of 5'11 with an almost hourglass like figure, adorning snow white hair and amythest colored eyes.
The teacher signaled for them to begin, which Hakai wasted no time and was on the move in the next moment, blurring from physical view from sheer speed which impressed the teacher.
On the other hand, Maya had narrowed her eyes at the speed displayed by Hakai, though fortunately for her she was still able to perceive him.
Thus she spun while lifting her arms in a guarding gesture and allowing them to tank the force of the strike, sending her skidding back quite a bit away with gritted teeth
"Hm. Decent mana enhancement."
Hakai complimented coolly while walking towards her as if he was stalking prey.
Maya took a defensive stance though unseen by the crowd of students, her legs were subtly shaking in response to the incredible strength displayed from Hakai.
Despite the nervousness Maya felt from the confrontation, she steeled her nerves and patiently waited for Hakai to close the distance.
'He's extremely strong. I guess I'll have to use that...'
Maya exclaimed within her mind, deciding to take the initiative and charge forward with a palm strike towards Hakai chest.
Unfortunately for her, Hakai seemingly predicted this and reacted faster, by side stepping the strike a few seconds before she reached him.
Undeterred by Hakai's evasion, Maya followed with a spinning back fist, which was effectively evaded by Hakai who ducked just in the nick of time, stepping closer into Maya's personal space.
Hakai then lashed out with a swift and precise single jab to Maya's stomach, knocking the wind out of her lungs and forcing her to double over in pain.
"Is that all you've got?"
Maya taunted with a grin, pushing through the stinging sensation that traveled down to her legs, and lashing out with a swift hook towards the side of Hakai face.
"This is your strongest?..."
Hakai suddenly proclaimed while intentionally being struck by the hook, enhancing his body with mana to increase the durability of his face.
So while the hook was successful in landing on Hakai, the damage dealt was barely noticeable which shocked the entire crowd.
"From now on...I'll be the strongest."
Hakai proclaimed coolly and still devoid of emotion, raising his hand with an open palm and striking it across Maya face with a thunderous impact that shook the ground.
The result was obvious and as the dust settled, Maya was sprawled out on the ground, nearly unconscious.
After School...
Hakai observed the students leaving the academy grounds to the dormitory nearby from the academy rooftop, his impassive gaze lingering on each student for more than a few seconds each.
That's when his eyes locked onto an individual who seemed familiar to Hakai, then realization dawned on him that it was his target , the apostle of war.
"You arrogant pricks want a show...then I'll give you one."
Hakai proclaimed aloud with the thought that he was alone, until the subtle shuffling of footsteps reached his enhanced sense of hearing.
"W-what do you plan on doing to the student council president?"
A soft feminine voice proclaimed in a worried tone with a hint of genuine fear, her voice barely above a whisper but still clearly audible due to Hakai's enhanced hearing.
A subtle sigh of annoyance escaped Hakai's lip, his head turning a bit to the side just enough for his eyes to divert their attention to the girl in a glaring side eye.
"A-answer me! Wha-"
The girl commanded in courage but with visible fear evident in her posture. Unfortunately, her sentence was cut short when Hakai no longer stood near the edge of the rooftop.
Instead he stood directly behind the girl, the difference in their height being made clear as day, making the girl freeze in place with the fear of turning around.
"Are you fond of him?"
Hakai asked with the same tone of indifference, ignoring her questions entirely in avoidance of revealing his plan, though he knew that this girl was going to be troublesome.
"...."
She was silent and did not reply in an act of defiance, though Hakai did not care much as he knew the answer already, given the obvious context clues of the situation.
"Close enough."
Hakai uttered in an almost hushed whispered , his tone filled with nothing but evil intentions which finally made the girl run for an escape.
Unfortunately, before she could complete her first step, Hakai struck a pressure point between her neck with enough force to render her unconscious almost instantly.
He then scooped the girl up with one final glance towards the retreating form of the apostle.
Then for the first time since his death and reincarnation, a smile broke out on his face, though it was not one of happiness. It was one of geniune sadistic glee.
The smile of a broken man with enough power to intact revenge.
"Don't disappoint."
Hakai proclaimed in finality, leaping from the academy rooftop with supernatural air time, practically soaring through the sky with the unconscious girl in his arms.
