Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 — The Birth of a Dragon Pokémon

Soft golden light flowed through the Cultivation Valley as Ethan and Lena stood on the smooth stone platform in the center of the field. The valley was calm and beautiful, surrounded by tall green mountains and gentle streams of glowing energy that drifted through the air like mist.

In Lena's hands rested the small Gible egg Ethan had taken from the warehouse.

The shell had a faint blue glow and small dark markings across its surface. Even without a scanner, anyone could feel the powerful energy contained inside.

Lena held the egg carefully.

Her heart was beating faster than usual.

"I still can't believe this is real," she said quietly.

Ethan stood beside her, watching the valley's energy swirl slowly around them.

"This place accelerates growth for Pokémon," he explained. "In the game it was used for cultivation, but here it works the same way. Eggs can absorb energy much faster."

Lena slowly knelt and placed the egg on the stone platform.

The moment the egg touched the surface, the platform lit up with soft runic patterns.

Energy from the valley began gathering toward the egg.

The glow around it slowly grew brighter.

Lena stepped back slightly.

"Is that supposed to happen?"

Ethan nodded calmly.

"Yes. The valley is helping the egg hatch faster."

A light breeze passed through the valley, carrying faint sparkles of energy. They slowly drifted toward the egg like fireflies.

Within seconds the energy started flowing directly into the shell.

The egg trembled.

Once.

Then again.

Lena leaned forward anxiously.

"It's moving!"

A faint crack sound echoed.

A small fracture appeared on the top of the shell.

The glowing lines across the egg brightened as if responding to the life inside.

Another crack followed.

Then another.

Lena covered her mouth in excitement.

"It's hatching already!"

Normally, Pokémon eggs in the outside world could take days or even weeks to hatch depending on the species.

But here in the Cultivation Valley, everything happened much faster.

More cracks spread across the shell.

Then suddenly—

CRACK!

A piece of shell broke off and rolled down the stone platform.

A small blue head popped out.

"Gible!"

The tiny dragon Pokémon blinked its large yellow eyes at the bright world around it.

For a moment it looked confused.

Then it spotted Lena standing in front of it.

The baby Pokémon tilted its head.

"Gible?"

Lena slowly reached out her hand.

The little Gible sniffed her fingers curiously.

Then it happily bit her sleeve.

"Ah!"

Lena laughed.

"It's chewing my clothes!"

Ethan chuckled.

"That means it likes you."

The small Pokémon climbed out of the broken egg completely and sat on the platform, wagging its tiny tail excitedly.

It looked strong and healthy.

Ethan activated the system scanner.

A transparent blue panel appeared in front of him.

Pokémon Status

Species: GibleLevel: 1Potential: Tier-3Health: ExcellentEnergy Stability: Perfect

Ethan nodded in satisfaction.

"A very good start."

Lena looked at him curiously.

"What does Tier-3 potential mean exactly?"

Ethan explained while watching the playful Pokémon.

"In this world Pokémon usually have several potential levels. The higher the potential, the stronger the Pokémon can become as it grows."

He paused briefly before continuing.

"Tier-3 is extremely rare. Most trainers never even see one."

Lena looked down at the small dragon chewing on her sleeve again.

"So this little guy could become very strong someday?"

Ethan smiled.

"Very strong."

Gible suddenly let go of Lena's sleeve and waddled toward Ethan.

"Gible!"

It opened its mouth widely.

Ethan laughed.

"I think it's hungry."

He opened the warehouse interface and summoned a small colorful cube.

"This is an energy cube."

He knelt and placed it in front of the Pokémon.

Gible immediately grabbed it and swallowed it happily.

The system panel flashed.

Level Up

1 → 3

Lena blinked in surprise.

"Wait—it already leveled up?"

Ethan nodded.

"Energy cubes help Pokémon grow faster. But normally trainers have to buy them at very high prices."

He gestured toward the endless warehouse.

"We have more than enough."

Gible jumped around excitedly after eating the cube.

"Gible! Gible!"

It seemed full of energy now.

Lena knelt beside the Pokémon again.

"Looks like someone wants to play."

She gently patted its head.

The tiny dragon leaned into her hand happily.

Watching the scene, Ethan felt a strange warmth in his chest.

He had played Pokémon games for years, but seeing a real Pokémon interact like this felt completely different.

It felt alive.

Real.

After a few minutes Gible suddenly ran around the platform in circles.

"Gible! Gible!"

Lena laughed.

"I think it's showing off."

Ethan pulled out a small candy from the warehouse.

"This is an EXP candy."

"What does it do?" Lena asked.

"It increases a Pokémon's experience immediately."

He handed the candy to her.

"Try giving it to Gible."

Lena carefully fed the candy to the Pokémon.

Gible happily swallowed it.

A moment later—

Level Up

3 → 6

The small dragon suddenly grew slightly bigger.

Its movements became more energetic.

"GIBLE!"

It jumped high into the air and landed perfectly.

Lena looked amazed.

"It's already getting stronger!"

Ethan nodded.

"With the resources we have, raising Pokémon will be much easier."

Gible then waddled over to Lena again and climbed into her lap.

The little Pokémon curled up comfortably.

Lena gently hugged it.

"I think it chose me as its trainer."

Ethan smiled.

"That's good."

The valley breeze moved softly through the grass.

The three of them sat quietly for a moment.

Lena looked around the peaceful valley.

"Ethan… this place could change everything."

He nodded.

"I know."

He looked toward the distant mountains surrounding the valley.

"With the Breeding Base, the warehouse, and this cultivation valley…"

He paused.

"We could build the greatest Pokémon ranch in the world."

Lena looked down at the sleeping Gible in her arms.

The tiny dragon made soft sounds while resting.

A gentle smile appeared on her face.

"Then let's build it together."

Ethan looked at her for a moment.

The sunlight reflected in her silver hair as she held the small Pokémon.

At that moment he felt certain about something.

This ranch.

This system.

This new life.

Everything had just begun.

And together, they were going to create something incredible.
