I got quite the boost today, but I'm still pretty weak compared to some of the guards in that house.
I'm not naive enough to believe I'll never have to fight anyone strong. If I truly want to live this new life to the fullest I'm sure many enemies will arise.
Especially after I deal with Daniel and his entourage. There's no way he'll just let this happen.
I know how protective Silas is…I'm glad I have my insurance.
Shaking my head, I stood up and went to take a shower.
It's only mid evening, I grabbed my phone and called my grandma.
*Ring*….*Ring*….*Ring*..-
{"Ah! Hello Aka!"}
"Hey grandma, I was calling back to follow up on the plans earlier. I know Naomi's birthday is in three days, I'm going to start heading down there tomorrow since it's pretty far."
{"Don't worry about your classes! it's been so long since you've seen them, Karin says Little Na misses you!"}
"Yeah, I feel bad for not talking to them for so long…" We continued for a little while, my grandparents weren't coming because they were planning a celebration later this month that didn't involve them having to travel all the way there.
After she hung up I got a call from an unsaved number but I knew ahead of time it was Aunt Karin.
She called me and we went over the party plan, it was a small dinner with us, Naomi, and two of her friends.
Naomi was currently staying in a hotel with them for the weekend so I was going to stay at my Aunts house.
She said she had the same room I used to live in prepared for me, the memories of it made me smile.
"I'm excited to see you both again. I just hope Naomi doesn't hate me too much."
{"Haha! She may be a little pouty, but hate? I swear she mentions you so often, always wondering how you were doing, that I felt like my ears were gonna fall off!"} We laughed, but the guilt inside me grew even more.
We talked a little longer and I promised to make up for lost time before we hung up. Not long after that I began preparing for the trip.
I started looking at flight tickets because I didn't have a car, but I didn't have much money left either.
Round trip tickets costed $600 and I just paid rent and didn't have any disposable cash.
I instead thought of renting a car. It was a little cheaper but factoring in the days and gas, not by much.
But, in the spirit of my new life I decided to take the plunge. I did not want to stress over money anymore. I'm sure something will work itself out.
*Knock Knock Knock*
And before I even called to make the appointment, there was a knock at my door.
I stood up confused, there shouldn't be anyone here right now.
Carefully, with some Déjà vu, I walked towards the door, looking out the peephole to see one familiar person.
It was the guard who stood outside of Silas's room.
I opened the door, coming face to face with a tall man with short spiky red hair.
"My name is Klein, I was sent by Lord Vero to deliver you your rewards."
He handed me a few sets of keys, and asked me to follow him.
I had him wait a second as I put some outside clothes on, and let him lead the way.
We got into a white suv with tinted windows, this one was completely different than the one I got in yesterday.
It seemed more luxurious and expensive, the seats were comfortable and the interior was clean.
This new world I was being introduced to was both exciting and held a lot of danger.
Either way I wanted more of it.
We drove about 15 minutes before we reached a giant home, but different from Silas's as there weren't dozens of guards everywhere, just a nice looking house.
We got out and Klein led me to the front door.
"This is the new home Lord Vero has gifted you. The other two keys belong to the vehicles stored in your garage. If you check your bank account soon there will be money deposited in there as well. The marriage contracts will be voided when Lord Vero meets with Mr. Sparrow."
I was in shock, I was not expecting Silas to be so direct.
'I know I healed him and all, but this feels strange still. If I had to guess, this is his way of securing a good relationship with me. With my healing, it wouldn't be strange if he tried to recruit me.' Convinced that was the only reason, I let my guard down.
"If there is anything you dislike feel free to mention it." Looking at Kleins demeanor more, instead of a simple guard he looks like a personal attendant of Silas
"Everything's perfect, I'll be sure to thank Silas later. Thank you, Klein." He nodded and turned around, getting back in the suv and leaving.
I stood around, looking at everything around me in disbelief.
One afternoon completely changed my life…wow.
There was only one actual key, as the other two items were fobs. So I quickly used it to unlock the door.
I was immediately hit with a rush of cool air and a nice smell.
Looking around at the high ceilings and comfortable furniture, I was expecting something more gaudy but it was actually quite sleek and modern.
I walked around the place, there were several bedrooms and bathrooms. There were extra rooms used as office spaces and even a full gym.
Eventually I made my way to the backyard, the grass was bright green and looked very healthy. The area was huge and had a nice large in ground pool with a small slide.

After taking in my surroundings and enjoying the view I went to the garage, I was excited to see what cars he had there.
Entering I saw a similar car to the one I arrived in, but it was black instead.
The one next to it was a sports car, a glossy black finish over it.
They were both free, everything seemed very expensive.
He was definitely trying to win me over. Unfortunately, I have no interest in joining them.
*Ding*
Just then I received a notification from my bank.

I was in shock but the messages kept coming.

Yeah, that sounds about right. The most my accounts ever seen was a few thousand. What do I do?

A lot just happened within a few minutes but it seems Silas expected the issues and already handled them.
I was now five million dollars richer and didn't know how to feel. Back to back surprises made me numb, my emotions short circuited a little.
Feeling like it was a dream I just stood in place and looked around. Well, at least I have a vehicle to drive back to meet everyone. I didn't have to rent one now.
I mean, I also had the money to fly…but I got my first car and wanted to use it.
There was still a lot to do before tomorrow.
I was going to be down there for a few days so I needed to pack some clothes. I need to go shopping for new ones since my old clothes are snug on me ever since I got bigger but I'll just do it when I'm there.
When I get back I'll have to actually move out of my old apartment.
"*Sigh*…well for now I'll get my card situation sorted out and I'll prepare for tomorrows trip."
I was taking the suv since it was better suited to longer drives and it had more space inside.
For now though I could drive the sports car, I hurriedly pressed a button that opened the garage and hopped inside the car.
I adjusted the seat a little to the perfect spot and just took in the moment and nice smell.
The seats were comfortable, the wheel felt nice in my hand, I had good visibility, everything was excellent.
Setting the gps to the bank, I pushed to start the car and heard it come to life.
A silent little rumble was heard and I pressed the gas slightly after taking it out of park.
Slowly I inched forward, making my way out of the estate. I hit the street soon and followed the gps.

I arrived at the bank pretty quickly as it wasn't very far and I was greeted by a short man in a suit.
I called ahead so I didn't run into any trouble as I was on a bit of a schedule.
"Mr. Torre! How nice of you to arrive so quickly! As promised you'll be in and out, all we need is some of your information and your card will be handed to you."
We went through the formalities and at the end I was handed a black plated card encrusted with diamonds with gold edges.
"This seems fancy for someone with my finances." I looked at the card a little confused.
"Well, while this card is only given to those with assets over one hundred million, we felt your potential and wanted to establish a friendly relationship now!" Ahh, I understand.
The Vero family is pretty rich and powerful,
It's a smart move befriending someone who seems to have deep ties with its true patriarch.
Worst case scenario for them, they cancel the card and pretend they never knew me.
He then proceeded to tell me some benefits of the card. It would never decline and worked perfectly in all countries as the card was made and promoted by the world central bank.
The list went on and on, it was pretty useful.
Shaking hands and saying goodbye, I walked to my car. My next destination was the school as I needed to report my future and previous absences.
I didn't really care about it that much, but the school still had many uses for me. Getting kicked out would be inconvenient right now.
My instructor wasn't in so I just made my way to her student aide.
It didn't take long before I saw a short girl with blonde hair running around with papers in hand.
"Luna!" I called out to her as I sped up my pace. She froze and turned around, looking at me a little confused.
Her confusion wasn't because she didn't recognized me, I mean I don't think there's many students with my color hair. Rather, it was most likely due to my behavior of missing classes.
"akashic? hello. you haven't been in class in awhile, are you okay?" She was a quiet girl but very nice, I first met her in high school.
She chose to come to this school because her older sister was a sophomore here. Her sister was a very popular influencer. I've only met her once but she was quite different from Luna, very energetic.
"Yeah I'm fine, thanks for asking. An emergency came up and I'll be absent for a few more days, I wanted to ask if you could let the instructor know?"
Today is a Thursday and since I'm going back to my hometown I won't be here tomorrow. Naomi's birthday is Saturday and I'll be staying down there for a few days. I don't know when I'll be back in school.
"o-okay. i won't be here tomorrow but i'll message her and let her know. i'll need to take a picture of you holding your student id so she knows you actually came here."
I nodded and stepped back. Grabbing my id from my wallet and holding it in front of me.
I told her I was ready and stood still, waiting for the picture to be taken.
"done. i'll let her know, i hope everything goes well." I thanked her and walked away, getting ready to head back to my apartment to pack for tomorrow.
I decided to sleep there for the night as I already had my new home locked up.
To think it's about to be my last night in this apartment…
