Chapter 1 - Aegon Zoldyck

Monolith District, Xemburg City, Year XX27

The sound of a rolling ceiling fan could be heard as it wasn't spinning fast nor slow, but enough to blow a certain portion of air.

The room was cramped, small like the size of a mini-balcony, with only one window that didn't bring in any air compared to the ceiling fan, the room was boiling hot.

At the side of the room was a bed not even compared to quarter the size of a King's bed. On top of this bed laid a boy, his eyes wide open staring upwards counting the rotation of the fan.

'Hmph? Where am I?' the young man thought in his heart.

'This is strange, one moment I was riding my bike and now I'm in this place.'

The young man raised his right arm upwards as though he was reaching for the ceiling. He looked at his hand and thought to himself.

'Who is this?'

Immediately, he sat upright on the bed and inspected both hands rotating them back and front.

"Why do I have the body of a child?"

The question left the young man's lips as the room was silent, no reply, the only thing that could be heard was the sound of the rotating fan.

From his arms to his legs, he inspected everything and figured that he was indeed in the body of a child.

It didn't make sense but there was only one assumption. The thought came into his mind but he had to check something else before his conclusion.

The young man placed his right hand at the top of his pants, closing one eye he bent his head to look inside, it was dark but he could see it.

'No, my big little brother…'

Suddenly, his face turned pale and before he could react he heard a voice call.

"Aegon!"

The mini sized door of the room cracked open and a young lady who seemed to be in her early youth walked right in.

As the young lady walked into the room, a single word popped up in Aegon's head.

'Maureen?'

That was his sister's name and he could only know that because of the memory in his head.

As Maureen stepped into the room, her expression immediately turned pale as she stared at what Aegon was doing at the moment.

"What are you doing?" she asked, feeling a bit stiff.

"Um…"

Aegon instantly dropped his pants feeling embarrassed of what he was looking at while his sister walked into the room.

"You know what? Nevermind…" Maureen spoke out, "…just hurry up and get ready for school. I'm on my way to work. I have made breakfast for you in the kitchen. You can warm it before you eat it. And also take an umbrella before you go, it might rain today."

Aegon stared at Maureen with a curious expression. She was wearing a high-collared white shirtwaist blouse tailored with a man's shirt tucked into a dark, floor-length walking skirt cinched and with a leather belt.

She looked like a model straight out of the 19th century.

"I… I don't want to carry an umbrella. I always end up forgetting it and remembering half way after school then I would have to go back and get it."

The words left Aegon's mouth unknowingly and even though he wasn't instinctively thinking of that to say, the words still came out.

"That's none of my business, just do as I say and you'd be fine. I'm off."

Maureen left his room leaving the door opened and after taking her bags she left the building entirely.

Aegon was still sitting upright on his bed while he tried to process all that had just happened.

First of all, he woke up in the body of a boy, found out that he had a sister, and somehow felt like he was not in his own world anymore, there was only one conclusion.

"Yup, I have been transmigrated."

The term wasn't strange to him since he has read a lot of web novels and comics in his previous life.

"This is interesting…"

Aegon felt a sense of thrill in his heart as he jumped down from the bed. He had been transmigrated even though he doesn't know how that happened, his last memory was him riding his bike and now he's in another world.

But that didn't concern him as there was one common factor that always comes with Transmigration or reincarnations.

"Power!"

Not just magic, but power. This was the common factor, so why would it be any different from his turn?

Aegon quickly rushed out of his room into the bathroom, which was the only one in his house. Both him and his sister shared it.

He took a shower, went back to his room and wore a white and black uniform, all of this he knew off through the memory of his new body.

Aegon walked up to a mirror in the corridor of his room to the entrance of the house. There he took a look at himself and a young and fragile boy stared back at him.

He had jet black hair, grey eyes, slim fit not too skinny just the right form for a 15 year old kid.

His face was neither handsome nor ugly, it was just right. He wouldn't be able to full babes, but hey, he had a sister with good looks that could put in the words for him.

After looking at himself, he went back to his room to collect his bag, and afterwards went to the kitchen to have his breakfast.

While he was eating, his eyes were fixed to the TV that resembled a mini-tube with two antennas on the top. It was giving old school vibes.

Aegon didn't pay any much attention to the tube as his focus was solely on the content it displayed.

It was the news; informing that there was going to be a great storm with possibly heavy rain and folks should take their umbrellas with them.

Seeing this, Aegon quickly finished his meal, went back to his room to take his umbrella, afterwards he went to the corridor and dropped the umbrella on the ground to wear his shoes.

After he had finished tying his shoes, he hung his bed over his shoulder and left the house leaving the umbrella behind unknowingly.

Aegon soundly left his home which was at the outskirts of the city. He was shocked to see how the entire place was completely different from his previous world.

It was as though he was on earth but the infrastructure was different, like that of the 18-19th century.

The infrastructures of the city were not that developed as modern earth. Here, the trains were still old school style that made the cho cho noise with smoke coming out from the top.

Aegon was surprised that he had not only transmigrated into another world, but it was a world of almost modern age and not an immemorial era.

"This is good, but where are the powers?"

As the words left his lips, the entire city went dark, the clouds growing thick as though it was about to rain.

A massive thunder strike roared in the sky followed by lightning that could be visibly seen with the naked eyes.

At this moment, a thought came to Aegon's head.

'Where is my umbrella?'

Just as predicted by the news and his sister, there was going to be heavy rainfall and he had no way of protecting himself.

At this moment, he had already gone half way since he left his house so there was no going back.

While Aegon was walking he noticed many people in the area standing and looking in a certain direction.

At first he didn't mind it but after a couple of people began coming out of their vehicles and shops he had to know what it was all about.

Aegon turned around and to his surprise there was a massive light forming in the sky at a distance, these lights immediately struck the ground and a massive tornado appeared.

Looking at the massive tornado everyone panicked as the thing was heading straight to them. At this moment the earth began shaking, making people who were running to fall flat on the ground and building crumbs to fall.

Aegon stood, his eyes wide as he watched the massive tornado pull up a lot of buildings, vehicles and people.

He watched as the thing came closer to him knowing that there was nothing he could do, till a thought struck him.

He turned and tried to run, but it was futile. The tornado had already reached him and pulled him up from the ground.

Aegon screamed his lungs out in fear. He was just a young boy so it was normal for him to feel fear.

At this moment, as he was spinning inside the tornado amidst dust, and chunks of building parts, a massive truck spinning came to his side and hit him, sending him flying out of the tornado.

Aegon landed on the ground, blood rushing out from his head. He could hear screams and cries all around and at this moment his eyes gave up and everywhere went dark.
