Sienna blinked, taken aback. She did not reply immediately and suddenly, she felt something strange--an energy pressing against her mind. It wasn't ordinary hypnosis. It was like being pulled into a dream state, her thoughts fogging, her memories unraveling. The night she plotted with her husband against the former falcon tried to surface.
But her mental strength was stubborn. She clenched her jaw, and curled her toes, pushing back against the invading energy, and steadied herself.
Her answer came out flat, almost bored. "I know he's dead."
The agent looked at Lenard and then other agents. One typed furiously into a virtual keyboard.
Lenard frowned. He was looking at the readings from the boots and it showed that her feet were curled. Clearly, she was fighting the forced dream serum and almost winning. "Impossible," he muttered.
