Chapter 7 - Episode 7 – Chains of Deception

The storm outside raged with a fury that matched Kael's mind. Lightning split the sky as if it were trying to warn the city: beware the last Stormborn.

Lyssa paced her room in the castle, the words of the manipulator echoing in her ears. "He's dangerous… you can't trust him. He's no hero, Lyssa. He'll hurt you if you don't obey." Fear, doubt, and memories of the boy she once loved tangled together, making her heart ache.

Kael watched silently from the balcony, unseen. Every movement, every whisper, every shadow of doubt… he felt it all. But he did nothing—not yet. Villains never rush. They calculate. They wait. And Kael had plans far beyond what anyone could see.

The manipulator stepped closer, hidden in the castle halls, spreading subtle lies, planting seeds of mistrust. Lyssa, vulnerable, started questioning everything Kael had done. Had he really killed her friend to protect her? Or was he just… monstrous?

Suddenly, a loud crash outside—the city had sent assassins, emboldened by Kael's recent deeds. He didn't hesitate. In a heartbeat, Kael summoned the storm, tearing through the attackers with precision and terrifying skill. Each strike was ruthless, leaving no room for mercy.

Lyssa watched, frozen in horror and awe. The boy she loved—the one who saved her once—was now a figure of terror, a genius of destruction. And yet, behind the stormy façade, she could feel a flicker of protection, a shadow of care.

Kael's voice, calm and cold, carried through the halls: "Let them come. Every move, every threat… I control it. You will remain safe, Lyssa. Even if you hate me for it."

The manipulator retreated, realizing Kael's control was absolute. But the seeds of doubt had taken root in Lyssa's heart. She would struggle, she would fear, she would hate him… and all of it would make the reveal of his true heroism that much more devastating.

Kael turned to the window, storm clouds curling above the city. They think they understand me. They are wrong. Everything… everything I do is for her, and for what comes next.
