Chapter 6 - Episode 6 – Shadows in the Storm

The castle was quiet, but Kael could sense the disturbance before it even arrived. His storm-born power hummed through the halls, every heartbeat alert, every shadow alive.

Outside the castle gates, a figure emerged—tall, armored, with eyes like shards of ice. A bounty hunter? An assassin? Kael didn't wait to find out. The figure had come for him, for Lyssa, or perhaps both.

With a single motion, Kael summoned a gust of wind that shattered the gates' hinges. The enemy charged, but Kael was already moving—faster, sharper, unstoppable.

The clash was thunderous. Metal rang, sparks flew, and the wind roared like a hurricane. Kael was a blur—dodging, countering, striking with precision that left his opponent staggering and terrified.

But the fight wasn't just brute force. Kael's mind was a storm of calculation. Every attack he used was designed to teach a lesson, humiliate, and dominate, leaving no doubt who ruled the battlefield. Within moments, the enemy was defeated, kneeling, broken, and terrified—Kael's reputation as the city's most feared figure growing with every strike.

Meanwhile, in the shadows of the castle, another presence stirred. A woman, cloaked in silk, whispering into Lyssa's ear. "He's dangerous… you can't trust him. He's no hero, Lyssa."

Lyssa froze, confusion and fear battling against the flicker of memories from the boy she once loved. Someone she had trusted, manipulating her mind, planting seeds of doubt.

Kael felt it—the subtle manipulation—but he didn't intervene immediately. He had plans, and part of his genius was letting others think they controlled the game… while he controlled everything.

After the fight, Kael turned to Lyssa, his eyes storm-dark. "See what comes for us… and know why I keep you here." His voice was cold, distant… terrifying, yet protective.

Lyssa's heart raced, a mixture of fear, anger, and something else… a strange longing for the boy she had once loved, now almost unrecognizable.

Kael stepped onto the balcony, overlooking the city, lightning flashing across the sky. They think they can threaten me. Threaten her. Let them try. Every move is theirs to make… until I decide otherwise.

The storm gathered, louder, fiercer. And somewhere in the shadows, the manipulator smiled, pulling strings, waiting… while Kael prepared his next move.
