The lecture hall gradually became quiet.
His presence alone seemed to put an automatic stop to the conversations as students turned their heads to the direction of the door.
His right hand held a huge number of documents in a stack, and with great care and a firm grip that suggested his seriousness about what he was about to do, he entered the lecture hall while keeping the documents in a stack in his hand.
As soon as the students saw the professor Miller with a stack of documents, each of them go their own original seats chair without exception and stayed there the whole class as if not daring to move lest someone should catch them by surprise.
He walked to his desk, and there he laid down the whole pile of documents on the table before he started to speak.
With a smile and looking at each of the faces of his students, as if he meant what he was telling us, he began the day's lesson by greeting, "Good morning everyone, " and his tone was quite calm if not a bit firm.
Rather than just an individual reply, the whole class sang the same words to the professor's greeting without a note out of tune and even with almost the same amount of time in between each word and after one word to the next.
"Good morning, Professor."
The professor Miller gave a small nod.
"Now, I want to welcome a new student." the professor spoke up.
Some curious looks turned from one student to the other.
We were about six days into the semester.
The class had been divided into groups.
Making new friends and being on the same department with everyone is what was happening here.

A young woman came through entrance inside the hall.
Students in the lecture hall ceased talking immediately after noticing that girl.
