Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Urahara watched the couple with a mixture of amusement and calculation.

While Kushina was lost in a world of bright colors and artificial flavors, the mind of Minato Namikaze operated on a completely different frequency. The Hokage couldn't help himself; his eyes wandered through the shop, cataloging every object that deviated from the medieval–feudal norm of Konoha.

"Kushina-chan, I think you already have enough sweets to supply the entire Academy," Minato said with a gentle laugh, placing a hand on the overflowing basket.

He then turned to Urahara, curiosity shining in his blue eyes.

"Urahara-san, I noticed something on the tools counter… are those communication devices?"

Urahara snapped his fan shut, the crisp sound echoing through the shop, and gestured for the Hokage to follow him to a side display case—away from the candy jars.

"Sharp observation, Hokage-sama," Urahara said, retrieving two small black devices with short antennas and side buttons.

"I call them Eco-Vox. In my homeland, explorers use them. They operate on radio frequencies, transmitting voice instantly across kilometers."

Minato picked up one of the devices, rotating it carefully in his hands. As a master of fuinjutsu, his mind instinctively searched for sealing formulas—but found nothing except integrated circuits and silicon.

"No summoning seals… no chakra transmission marks," Minato murmured, fascinated.

"How does the signal pass through solid barriers without a network of receivers?"

"They use invisible waves in the air," Urahara explained while adjusting the volume knob.

"The advantage is obvious—they consume no chakra. Imagine an infiltration team coordinating simultaneous attacks in complete silence, without the risk of mental fatigue."

Minato pressed the transmission button and heard his own voice echo from the device in Urahara's hand.

A spark of tactical realization appeared on his face.

"It's impressive. However, Konoha uses sealing barriers that block external interference. We would need to integrate these 'waves' into our protection seals for them to function inside the village."

Urahara smiled faintly, feeling the analytical brilliance of Kisuke's mind stir within him.

"A fascinating integration indeed. Barrier seals acting as signal repeaters… the possibilities for Konoha's defense would be considerable."

Minato seemed ready to dive into a deeper technical discussion—

—but Kushina interrupted by dropping the basket on the counter with triumphant force.

"All done! I picked everything!" she declared.

"Come on, Minato! The ramen won't eat themselves, dattebane!"

Minato chuckled and paid the bill in ryō—a considerable amount that made Urahara's system emit a quiet notification of satisfaction.

The couple headed toward the door, Kushina already opening a bag of snacks.

Just as Minato's hand touched the sliding door, Urahara paused.

He tilted his head slightly.

His eyes, hidden beneath the brim of his hat, lingered for a brief moment on Kushina's posture—her center of gravity slightly altered, the faint but unmistakable shimmer in her energy flow.

"Ah—wait a moment," Urahara said suddenly.

His voice had softened, carrying a tone of almost ceremonial courtesy.

"How careless of me. I was so focused on business that I nearly overlooked… the special needs of an expecting mother."

The movement toward the door stopped instantly.

Kushina froze with the snack bag in her hand.

Minato slowly turned around.

The gentle smile on his face vanished, replaced by protective vigilance.

Kushina's pregnancy was a state secret, closely guarded by ANBU and the village leadership.

Urahara remained completely calm.

He reached beneath the counter and produced a small amber glass bottle containing capsules that glowed with sterile purity.

"Please don't worry," Urahara said, sliding the bottle across the counter.

"My lips are a vault."

"These are Vital Synthesis Vitamins. In my homeland, they're given to women who carry… great burdens. They strengthen the immune system and cellular density without interfering with internal energy flows—or containment seals."

He gave a slight bow.

"A gift from the house. For the child who is coming."

Kushina looked at the bottle.

Then at Urahara.

Then at Minato.

The Hokage studied both the container and the man before him.

There was something about this shopkeeper he could not fully read—an unfathomable depth that went beyond a simple civilian merchant.

"Thank you, Urahara-san," Minato finally said, taking the bottle with a respectful nod.

"Your discretion is as valuable as your products."

The couple left the shop.

Urahara remained standing in silence for a long moment, watching the quiet street outside.

I've earned the trust of the Yellow Flash, he thought.

In three months, history will try to collect the price of that child.

Let's see if my vitamins—and my technology—can renegotiate the bill.

Deep beneath the village, in a hidden facility where sunlight never reached, the rhythmic dripping of water and the smell of damp stone defined the atmosphere of **Danzō Shimura's Root.

Danzo sat upon a stone seat while reading a report delivered by one of his faceless subordinates.

"Kisuke Urahara…" Danzo murmured, his voice dry as crumpling parchment.

"A civilian who, within weeks, has infiltrated the logistics of the Uchiha clan and gained the personal sympathy of the Fourth Hokage. Devices that defy the logic of fuinjutsu. Pills that alter basic biology."

He closed the report slowly.

His visible eye turned toward the two figures kneeling in the darkness.

"The Uchiha clan is becoming dependent on this foreign technology. If their police force strengthens through these tools, the balance of power within the village will shift."

His cane struck the stone floor once.

"I want to know what lies inside that restricted room—and the true objective of this shopkeeper."

His gaze hardened.

"Nono. Tenzō."

"Go there."

"Not as Root agents… but under the pretense of an ANBU security inspection."

A thin smile formed beneath Danzo's bandages.

"Discover the connection between Urahara… and Fugaku Uchiha."
