The entire office fell silent when Sophia walked in.
Many employees recognized her immediately.
After all, she had once been known as Alexander Knight's fiancée.
Sophia approached slowly, her high heels clicking against the floor.
Her eyes moved from Alexander to Emily.
Then back again.
"So the rumors are true," she said coldly.
Alexander's expression didn't change.
"Sophia."
Emily looked confused.
"You know her?"
Sophia smiled slightly.
"Oh, he didn't tell you?"
She extended her hand.
"Sophia Knight."
Emily shook it cautiously.
"Emily Carter."
Sophia's smile faded slightly.
"So you're the famous assistant."
Emily noticed the tension instantly.
Alexander spoke calmly.
"What do you want?"
Sophia crossed her arms.
"I came to visit."
Her eyes returned to Emily.
"And to meet the woman everyone is talking about."
Emily suddenly felt uncomfortable.
The way Sophia looked at her felt… dangerous.
Alexander stepped slightly forward.
"That won't be necessary."
Sophia laughed softly.
"Relax, Alexander."
She leaned closer.
"I'm just curious."
Emily could feel the hostility in the air.
Sophia turned toward the elevator again.
But before leaving, she looked at Emily once more.
"Be careful."
Emily blinked.
"About what?"
Sophia's lips curled into a small smile.
"This world is dangerous for innocent girls."
Then she left.
Emily looked at Alexander.
"Your ex-fiancée?"
Alexander sighed quietly.
"Yes."
Emily folded her arms.
"Your life is complicated."
Alexander didn't deny it.
