Later evening, Veydrick enters his office, almost empty, only few lights on.
As he sits in his chair, a voice emerges from side: "You handled the robbery case efficiently today"
"OH my gosh Darius, you frightened me!", claimed Veydrick.
His identity: Darius Halven, older, confident and slightly arrogant.
Darius drops a file on veydrick's desk, saying, "But you made things unnecessarily complicated" Veydrick doesn't looks up and answers: "using proper evidence is complicated?"
Darius smirks, and tells: "You had a confession already. The judge would've accepted it." Veydrick slowly closes the file he was reading
"A confession obtained through police violence collapses on appeal."
Darius leans towards the desk, "Most prosecutors don't worry about that" Veydrick finally meets his eyes: "I am not most prosecutors, you should have known that by now"
Darius chuckles, "You know what your problem is, Veydrick?...You think the system can be controlled" Veydrick responds calmy: "It can"
Darius shakes his head "The system controls you" He turns to leave but stops at the door "OH and that new officer who came as witness....Aren Valric...HE WON'T LAST LONG"
He leaves and the office becomes silent again, Veydrick who was listening carefully, looks out at the decreasing sunlight...reflecting: Aren standing firmly in front of him in the court.
"Maybe, but if he does....it would be hectic for him"
