Maya's POV
My instincts kicked in before rational thought could intervene. I seized Sebastian's wrist and hauled him from the room, desperate to escape before my family started celebrating with champagne toasts. His expression remained infuriatingly amused throughout our hasty exit, as if orchestrating fake proposals was his weekend hobby.
I marched down the corridor, deaf to my mother's bewildered calls and my siblings' stunned faces. The kitchen door slammed behind us with enough force to rattle the hinges.
"What the hell was that performance, Sebastian?"
He straightened his expensive suit jacket with maddening composure, appearing completely unfazed by the chaos he'd just unleashed.
"A marriage proposal."
"Obviously!" Heat flooded my cheeks as pressure built behind my temples. "The question is why would you do something so insane?"
That insufferable smirk returned, like my complete breakdown was prime entertainment.
