Chapter 46 - the hunt

The city lights of Dubai shimmered below.

Bright.

Luxurious.

Deceptive.

Kiara stood near the glass window of the penthouse.

Looking down.

But her mind—

Was somewhere else.

"He's here," she said quietly.

Behind her—

Aarav adjusted his watch.

Eyes sharp.

Always alert.

"We confirm first," he replied.

"No mistakes."

Kiara turned.

"No delays."

That difference—

Still there.

But this time—

They weren't against each other.

They were aligned.

A file lay open on the table.

Photos.

Transactions.

Locations.

Her uncle.

Rajiv Kapoor.

A respected name.

A trusted face.

A traitor.

"He's meeting someone tonight," Aarav said.

"Private yacht. 11 PM."

Kiara's eyes darkened.

"Vikram's contact?"

Aarav nodded.

"Most likely."

Silence.

Kiara picked up her jacket.

"I'm going."

Aarav stopped her.

"With me."

This time—

She didn't argue.

"Fine," she said.

Because deep down—

She knew.

She didn't want to do this alone.

Night fell.

The yacht floated quietly in the dark water.

Isolated.

Guarded.

Kiara and Aarav approached from the back.

Silent.

Calculated.

"Stay close," Aarav whispered.

Kiara smirked slightly.

"Always do."

They slipped inside.

Voices echoed from the main deck.

Kiara froze.

That voice—

She knew it.

"Everything is under control," Rajiv Kapoor said calmly.

"No one suspects anything."

Kiara's fists clenched.

Aarav glanced at her.

"Wait."

But she didn't.

She stepped forward.

Out of the shadows.

"Really?"

Silence crashed.

Rajiv turned.

And froze.

"…Kiara?"

Shock.

Real.

"You're not supposed to be here," he said.

Kiara walked closer.

Each step heavy.

"And you weren't supposed to betray me."

A pause.

Rajiv recovered quickly.

Composed again.

"You don't understand," he said.

Kiara laughed.

Cold.

"No," she replied.

"You're going to explain."

Aarav stepped beside her.

Now visible.

Now dangerous.

Rajiv's eyes flickered.

Calculating.

"You brought him," he said.

Kiara didn't respond.

Instead—

She asked one question.

"Why?"

Silence.

Then—

Rajiv sighed.

Like it was nothing.

"Because power doesn't come from loyalty."

Kiara's expression hardened.

"It comes from control."

That answer—

Ended everything.

Kiara nodded slowly.

"Then you lose both."

Tension exploded.

Because this wasn't just confrontation anymore.

This was the beginning of the end.
