Chapter 45 - blood and betrayal

The mansion felt colder that night.

Not because of danger—

But because of truth.

Kiara stood in the study.

The file still in her hand.

Her uncle's name—

Burning into her mind.

Aarav watched her from a distance.

He didn't interrupt.

Because he knew—

This wasn't something he could fix.

"Say something," he said finally.

Kiara laughed softly.

But it wasn't real.

"What do you want me to say?"

"That you didn't see it coming?" Aarav replied.

Kiara's eyes snapped to him.

"I trusted him."

A pause.

Then quieter—

"He raised me after my parents…"

She didn't finish.

Silence.

Heavy.

"And he sold you out," Aarav said.

Not harsh.

Just real.

Kiara closed her eyes for a second.

Trying to hold it together.

"I destroyed Arjun thinking I was saving Aurora…"

Her voice broke slightly.

"But the real enemy was in my own house."

That realization—

Hit the hardest.

Aarav stepped closer.

"You couldn't have known."

Kiara shook her head.

"No."

A pause.

"But I should have."

Her grip on the file tightened.

"I trusted the wrong people."

Aarav's voice softened.

"You trusted people who didn't deserve it."

Kiara looked at him.

And for a second—

Something fragile showed.

"Do you trust me?" he asked.

Kiara didn't hesitate this time.

"Yes."

That answer—

Came without fear.

Without doubt.

Aarav nodded.

"Then we fix this."

Kiara's expression changed again.

The softness disappeared.

Replaced by something sharper.

Stronger.

"No," she said.

Aarav frowned.

"What do you mean?"

Kiara stepped forward.

Her eyes cold now.

Determined.

"We don't fix this."

A pause.

"We end it."

Aarav didn't argue.

Because he knew that look.

The same look she had—

When she decided to destroy Arjun.

"Where do we start?" he asked.

Kiara opened the file again.

Focused.

Precise.

"He has accounts offshore."

"Connections through Vikram."

"And one last known location."

Aarav leaned closer.

"Where?"

Kiara looked up.

Eyes dark.

"Dubai."

Silence.

Aarav smirked slightly.

"Of course."

Kiara closed the file.

"He betrayed my family."

A pause.

"And now—"

Her voice dropped.

Cold.

Final.

"He pays for it."

Because this time—

It wasn't just business.

It was personal.

And Kiara Kapoor—

Never left things unfinished.
