On March 3rd, Year 2024, a phenomenon shook the modern world forever. Across every nation on Earth, black fractures appeared in the air — cracks in reality itself, jagged and humming with dark energy. They came to be called GATES. From within these Gates poured monsters of incomprehensible power: beasts, undead, demons, and creatures from mythological nightmares made flesh. Cities fell in hours. Governments scrambled. But something else happened too. A small fraction of humanity — roughly one in ten thousand — felt something ignite inside them. Their bodies changed. A glowing panel appeared before their eyes, visible only to themselves, and their flesh rewrote its own rules. They were called AWAKENED."
THE AWAKENING SYSTEM
Every Awakened receives a personal System — a divine interface granting access to their unique power set. Most Awakened receive a single class: Warriors, Mages, Healers, Scouts, Tamers. Ranks ascend from F (weakest) to SSS (theoretically the ceiling). No one in recorded history had ever been ranked above SS... until him."
THE PROTAGONIST — KAI ARDEN
Age: 22. Former: University dropout, part-time convenience store worker. Background: Orphaned at age 8, raised in state care. Described by former classmates as unremarkable — average grades, forgettable face, never stood out. That was by design. Kai learned early to make himself invisible."
