Chapter 4 - CHAPTER FOUR - LINES WE SHOULDN’T CROSS

JAY'S POV

When my brother Angelos's business partners came over, I had no choice but to stay away for a few weeks. Aries was going to Ella's, and that left me with only one option.

I walked into school the next morning, scanning the hallways for Ci-N.

"Ci-N, can I ask you something?" I whispered.

He shook his head slightly, distracted. "There's a lot of complicated stuff happening at my house right now," he said.

I sighed, looking around. My eyes landed on Keifer. He was already staring at me like he'd been waiting for my gaze.

I rolled my eyes and walked toward him, knowing I had no choice.

"Keifer… I might need to stay at your place for a while," I said, trying to sound casual but failing spectacularly.

His eyes flickered with curiosity. "You're staying at my house? For how long?"

I hesitated. "Two or three weeks. Aries isn't coming—he's staying with Ella."

His posture relaxed slightly, relief faintly brushing his features. "Then it's just you? Okay… fine."

I nodded, trying not to smile too widely. "Thanks. I didn't really have another choice."

After the bell rang, signaling the end of the first class, I approached him again.

"Keifer, I need to talk to you… in private."

He smirked, as if he had been waiting for this moment all day. "Lead the way," he said.

I explained everything—my stay, my luggage, how long I'd be there. He listened carefully, arms crossed, eyes glinting like he was enjoying the entire explanation more than he should.

"So Aries won't be there?" he asked finally.

"Nope. He'll be staying with Ella," I said, shrugging.

KEIFER'S POV

I watched her, amused by the way she fidgeted. She didn't even realize I noticed the tiny blush rising across her cheeks.

(IN THE CAR)

The ride was quiet, filled only with the hum of the engine and the occasional teasing glance from me.

When we arrived, Kegain and Keiren were already there.

"Hello, Jay!" they said in unison.

I leaned closer and whispered, "Call her Ate Jay."

Jay hugged them both. "Fine with whatever you want," she said with a smile.

Keiren grinned. "Okay, Ate Jay!"

I stayed behind in the living room, watching Jay and my brothers interact, smirking at the way she relaxed just slightly.

JAY'S POV

I went to take a shower and suddenly realized I hadn't brought any clothes.

"Ah, crap…" I muttered under my breath, grabbing my phone.

"Keifer! I didn't bring any clothes!"

He appeared almost immediately. "Come outside," he said.

"You idiot, I don't have anything to wear!" I shouted, peeking around the doorframe, wrapping a towel tightly around myself.

"Wrap the towel and trust me," he said with a smirk.

I hesitated, then did as he said.

He led me to a separate room—a giant wardrobe. I froze. The size… it was almost bigger than my bedroom.

"How do you know my size?" I asked, my voice high, eyes wide. "And why is all of this here?"

"I had them made for you, so whenever you came over, you'd have your own clothes," he said, smirking back.

I stared at the organized shelves of pants, dresses, even bras and underwear.

"Get out!" I shouted.

"Can't I watch?" he teased.

I threw a bra at him, and he caught it in one hand, smirking.

"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND? LEAVE!"

He laughed and left. I was left shocked, staring at all my clothes, cheeks burning.

After changing, I walked out of the wardrobe, steam rising from the bathroom behind me.

KEIFER'S POV

I came out of the bathroom, towel wrapped around my waist, hair wet, droplets sliding down my chest and abs.

"Nice view?" I teased, smirking.

Jay quickly covered her eyes, peeking through her fingers. "Go wear clothes!"

I went into the wardrobe to change, but she accidentally slipped on the bra I'd caught earlier. I grabbed her just in time, feeling her warmth pressed against me.

"Quit staring," I said, cutting the moment short.

After I changed into a black half-sleeve shirt and baggy pants, I noticed Jay lying on her bed, laughing at her phone. I quietly sat next to her.

"What are you watching?" I asked.

Jay jumped, pushing me away and laying down to sleep. I smirked at how flustered she was.

JAY'S POV

As I lay down, Keifer eventually laid beside me, staring. I tried to avoid his gaze, but I failed.

"Jay…" he murmured.

I ignored him.

"Jay, look at me…" he said again.

I turned away.

He whispered for the last time, slower, dangerous. "Jay… look…" His hand slid down my waist.

"At…" he said, gripping my waist.

"Me." He pulled me close, deadly close, our noses brushing.

KEIFER'S POV

I couldn't take it any longer, my lips crashed into hers. It didn't rush. It didn't need to. It lingered like a storm, pressing, pulling, consuming every nerve ending. I pulled back slightly, sliding my hand down her thigh, lifting it on top mine, making her wrap my leg around me. He kissed me harder, hand sliding up to my back, then pulling apart briefly.

"You're mine," he whispered.

One last kiss, then we pulled apart. I held her close, chest to chest, smirking as she rested her head against me. We fell asleep tangled together.
