Chapter 3 - CHAPTER THREE - LOCKED DOORS

JAY'S POV

The classroom felt tighter than usual, like the air itself was watching.

My eyes found Keifer before I meant them to. They always did. He sat a few rows away, relaxed like nothing in the world could bother him, but I knew better. He was always aware. Always paying attention.

I walked past him on purpose.

My shoulder hit his just enough to be felt. A deliberate move. A test. I didn't look back, but I felt it—the pause, the shift, the way his attention snapped straight to me.

I slid into my seat, pulse racing, legs bouncing slightly beneath the desk. I tried to focus on anything else. The board. The noise. The clock.

Then the bell rang.

No one moved.

Chairs stayed still. Bags stayed on the floor. Every pair of eyes turned toward me.

I was the only one standing.

I lifted my chin, refusing to let it show. "Is there a problem?"

My gaze locked on Ci-N.

He didn't answer right away. Just turned his head toward Keifer.

One nod.

That was all.

Ci-N gestured for me to follow him outside. I didn't argue. I couldn't. Not with the pressure building in my body, not with how badly I needed a bathroom.

I followed, keeping my steps measured, holding myself together until the door closed behind us.

KEIFER'S POV

The tension with Yuri had been building all morning. Words exchanged. Looks held too long. Everyone knew it was coming.

The fight started fast.

Before it got serious, I stepped away. I needed a second. Needed to clear my head.

The bathroom was empty when I walked in. I was still wearing only my vest, the air cool against my skin. I set my black comb down on the sink without thinking, then my ID card right beside it. Habit.

I used the stall, splashed water on my face, and left.

Too fast.

Back outside, adrenaline took over. The noise. The movement. The first round ended, and that's when it hit me.

My comb.

And my ID.

I swore under my breath and pulled away from the group. There was no way I was leaving that behind.

I turned back toward the bathroom.

JAY'S POV

I barely made it.

The bathroom door swung open and I rushed into a stall, locking it behind me with shaking hands. My whole body felt tight, impatient, like I'd been holding my breath for hours.

Relief hit hard.

After a moment, I stepped out, splashing cool water onto my face, trying to calm the heat in my cheeks, the leftover nerves from class, from him.

That's when I saw it.

A black comb.

And next to it—an ID card.

I picked them up, turning the card over.

Keifer.

My stomach flipped.

A quiet laugh slipped out before I could stop it. "Of course," I muttered, bouncing slightly on my heels. "That figures."

I slipped both into my shirt pocket, smiling despite myself. "I'll give these back tomorrow."

The lock clicked.

The sound was sharp. Final.

My head snapped up.

I turned around—

And froze.

KEIFER'S POV

She turned, eyes wide, breath catching the second she saw me.

I didn't speak right away.

I just watched.

"What are you doing here?" she asked.

I shut the distance between us calmly. "May I ask that first?"

Her face flushed instantly. It was impossible not to notice. Impossible not to enjoy just a little.

She caught it. "Why are you laughing?"

"You're too obvious," I said.

Her jaw tightened. She bit her lip.

That's when my hands moved.

They started at her waist—slow, steady—then slid lower, firm but controlled, until they rested at her thighs.

Before she could react, I lifted her.

She gasped, her breath left her completely as her legs wrapped around my waist on instinct, arms wrapped up around my neck like she thought she might fall.

She didn't.

I had her.

I stepped forward and set her on the sink, keeping her close, my body still between her knees. I didn't step back, leaving no space between us.

"Keifer—someone might walk in."

"I locked the door," I said quietly. "It's just us."

I leaned in, close enough that our foreheads almost touched.

"Tell me to stop," I said.

She didn't.

Her grip tightened instead.

And in that moment, I knew—this wasn't ending here.

Our lips met softly at first, a careful brush that made her stomach flutter. The world around us fell away instantly, leaving only the warmth of her.

I deepened it slowly, pressing closer, tilting my head just enough to explore her lips with precision. Every movement was deliberate, as if I could map her reactions by the way she breathed.

But before I could do anything else she pushed me back, jumping off the counter heading towards the door.

A smirk tugged up my lips, as she realized it was locked.

I quickly caught her hands before she could twist the lock opened, steadying them against the wall above her head.

"Told you."

I leaned in for another kiss. One hand slid down her waist bringing her closer while the other locking her hands above her head.

I traced her lips with my tongue softly, drawing a shiver that ran down her spine. I could feel her heartbeat against mine, the warmth of her body, the faint scent of hers mingling with my own.

The kiss lingered, stretching, deepening as she gasped quietly in my mouth.

Slowly we pulled apart, I let go of her hands and unlocked the door for her, staring at my ID card and comb in her right pocket quickly snatching it

"I'm letting you go," I said, smirking. "Next time, I won't."

"You wish."

She walked out before I could even say a word.

I watched her leave already planning the next move.
