(BLUE'S POV)
"Rebonding."
A collective gasp rippled through the garden.
"Rebonding?" Dylan was the first to speak, his voice incredulous. "That's a myth! There's no such thing as rebonding!"
"It's not a myth," Haelorian said, his voice firm.
Erica took a hesitant step forward, the color draining from her face.
"Even if rebonding isn't just a myth," she said quietly, "it's still not a real option."
Her gaze swept across the garden before settling back on Haelorian.
"No one would willingly go through it. Rebonding is dangerous. It binds two souls on a level most people can't even comprehend. Once it's done, there's no undoing it. No second chances. It's too intimate... too permanent."
My mind was spinning.
Rebonding.
I had heard of it in ancient texts. Old stories. Legends from a time before time. But I never thought it was real.
Mason stepped closer to me, his hand finding mine. "Blue? What's rebonding?"
Liam nodded. "Yeah, I've never heard of it."
