Chapter 36 - Odd

"…..," the man seated before Ryan had gray hair and a beard, with a slightly golden tint in his dark black eyes. He sat in a room stacked with documents at every corner; even the table which stood as the division between them was not spared of the mess surrounding it. The room was ablaze with the soft, gentle glow of the sun that illuminated every nook and cranny of the room itself.

The man in question had a stern expression on his face as his eyes bore into Ryan. "I will ask again for the very last time, Mister Ryan. If you fail to give me a straight answer, then I will have no choice but to redirect this case to the principal herself, and let me give you some pieces of advice: that won't end well. So, tell me, how did you destroy your room?" He asked that question one more time, the same question the Dorm Master asked me a billion times before sending me here, the Vice Principal's office.

"I really have no idea, sir. I was just trying to cast a spell I searched up on the internet when I lost control and the whole room… turned out that way," I replied, my face a mask of indifference.

That was a lie, obviously.

This was what really happened.

"Ugh," I groaned and my eyes shot open.

Sighs.

That was literally the best sleep I have ever had since I woke up in this world.

Focus returned to my eyes, but just as it did…

… I realized something was wrong.

I always sleep on the lower part of the bunks. And whenever I woke up, I was always met with the sight of the metal of the upper bunk. At least that's how it has been for the past two days I have been here.

But now, all I see is a scarred ceiling.

Like the ceiling is literally torn to shreds; a strong enough punch from me and my hand would probably pass through to the top floor.

Wait.

What the fuck happened here?!

I tried to roll from the bed but collapsed on shards of ice and glass which actually pierced through my shoulder and sides.

Damn it.

I looked up, and I realized the upper bunk was literally being suspended by three legs; the other had been chopped off. It was just chopped off till the point of the back of my head, where the line stopped a hair's breadth away from probably killing me.

I forced myself to standing and manifested the healing potion I received from Selena yesterday. Just before heading to my room, I had spotted her—well, it was impossible to miss her since she was literally waiting outside the room itself. Seeing my bloodied shoulder, she got… well, mad.

I was able to calm her down and stop her from literally dragging me to her room eventually, but it took a lot of cringy lines. Damn, saying those words made me want to kill myself. But its effect was instant; she became a blushing mess and reverted to her docile self. With that, she handed me two high-grade healing potions, something most low-rankers will never see in their entire lifetime.

She said she was going to wait for me at the gates of the academy, and I was not to keep the potions and was to use them that night since she had more and just wanted me to heal up. Anyway, long story short, I ignored her words and stored the two potions; no way I was going to waste such an opportunity. Potions like this cost a fortune both in the outside world and even in the academy itself, part of the reason I was going for alchemy.

"Haah," I sighed. The effects were instant and my wounds began closing up.

I then got a better look at the whole place, and I just didn't know what to say. I was literally at a loss for words.

"WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED?! DID A FREAKING NUKE FALL WHILE I WAS SLEEPING?!" I could literally see the outside of the room, but not through a window. There was literally a huge hole in the wall. The whole place was charred black like someone was trying desperately to roast me alive.

I looked around; there was nothing. Everything was destroyed: all my uniforms, all my books, and all my clothes. The very room itself was no better. It was literally destroyed.

"…."

Sobs…

I heard a sobbing sound and followed that sound to the person curled up at the corner of the room, crying, and my eyes widened in shock.

"How the heck did you find me?!"

"So… you were casting a high-level spell," he said, his expression now one of annoyance.

Tsk.

I couldn't really say yes since it is impossible to even do given how low a supply I get from my manapool.

But what choice do I have?

I will just keep on with this. I mean, yeah, the lie is obvious, but they have no choice but to believe it.

"Yes," I nodded. He then rubbed his temples.

"…. Alright, minus 2,000 points," he said, writing on something.

Fuck.

2,000 points where?

"…. Sorry sir, but, which points exactly?" I asked, and he looked at me.

"The grading exams, of course. You are already in the negative with about 2,500 points. I will advise you now: you better try extra hard in these exams, as if you are not able to earn enough points to come out of the negative, you will be expelled. And if you do manage to come out but not earn enough, you will not be given the chance to choose a course you want to study. Good luck," he said, and I could only stare.

Fuck me to death!
