"Oh! W-what happened to Jane Jiang? Is she alright? You said yesterday that she threw a huge tantrum in the office and caused a commotion, that's why you are here."
I was genuinely curious about Jane Jiang, because Jane was hopelessly in love with Ray, and I knew how painful it was to fall in love with him and end up unreciprocated.
"Why are you so eager to know about Jane? Shouldn't you be happy that a woman who hates you is out of your life?"
"W-well, I know she hates me, but… I too was in love with Ray once. I was nineteen at that time, but I fell in love like a teenage girl. I did many stupid things just to get his attention," confessing about this was embarrassing, but at the same time, it felt relieving to know that I had made peace with that past, and could laugh at how cringey I was.
"And Ray ignored you?" she asked. I nodded, and Anok sighed pitifully. "What is wrong with that guy? Sometimes I don't even understand how his mind works."
