Since the problem occurred on a shipping route he leased out, they were bound to come to him demanding an explanation.
After listening, Aria Sterling asked, "They all disappeared at night?"
"That's right." Evan Lynch nodded. "Afterward, I had people follow up to see if someone was secretly sabotaging the route. They tailed the ships several times, and each time a wind would suddenly kick up, all the lights would extinguish, and the surroundings would be plunged into darkness. By the time the ship behind reconnected its power and its lights came back on, the cargo ship in front of it would be gone. There weren't even any waves—it just vanished inexplicably."
At his words, a glint flashed in Aria Sterling's eyes. "I need to go to the scene and take a look."
"Now?"
Aria Sterling shook her head. "Tonight."
