Alaric Davenport smirked. "Then we'll see if you have what it takes."
He snapped his fingers. A dead silence fell, followed by a state of high alert as armed men closed in from all sides.
Herman Lowell and Yasmine Kimball shot to their feet in shock. Yasmine's eyes widened as she stared at the men. "How is that possible? Our people are outside."
"They might have been, a moment ago. Not anymore," Alaric Davenport said, rising gracefully. His towering figure alone was enough to dominate them.
"Give her to me, and I'll let you go. This is your only chance. If there's a next time, you'd better have your last words ready."
"What's the use of capturing us? He'll come back to save us."
"Save you?" Alaric Davenport sneered. "And where is he?"
His eyes were as cold as a cellar, his gaze piercing.
"We don't know where he is either," Yasmine Kimball said.
"Then take them. We'll see just how important you are to him."
