Seeing he was about to charge over, Rosalind Lowell quickly grabbed his arm. "Don't. Please, don't go."
"She bullied you, and you're not angry?"
Michael's question left her speechless. 'I'm the loser here. What right do I have to be angry?'
'If I had any real nerve, I'd snatch my man back.'
She suddenly recalled her various conversations with Jessica Sutton. She had been so defiant then, but now all she did was avoid the issue.
'It was Alaric Davenport who disappointed me in the first place.'
'And every time Jessica Sutton appeared, that natural sense of rivalry between women would take over.'
