She breathed a sigh of relief. "So, does this mean I've successfully completed my mission?"
A slight smile touched Alaric Davenport's lips. "Mm."
Just as she was about to speak, Alaric Davenport beat her to it. "So, what reward do you want?"
"You knew I was going to ask that?"
Alaric Davenport kept his eyes on the road. "What do you want?"
"Can you take me on a trip?" she asked, fiddling with her seatbelt out of habit. "I've never been on a real one in my whole life. I've only ever seen other people go."
"A honeymoon?"
"Huh?" Rosalind Lowell froze for a second. She wasn't sure why, but a 'trip' and a 'honeymoon' felt distinctly different. A blush crept up her cheeks. "Um... if you're too busy, I can go by myself."
"We can, but we'll have to wait a little while."
Rosalind Lowell was a little surprised. "Okay, that's fine."
The two of them fell silent, and the atmosphere in the car suddenly grew a little awkward.
