Lianne's heart was still racing. She stared at him blankly. "Oh..."
Seth Sinclair glanced over, his dark eyes sizing her up from head to toe.
The burgundy cello case was huge, making her slender, petite frame seem even smaller in comparison, like a lifelike figurine.
"Been out thieving?" Seth Sinclair watched her, his expression utterly nonchalant. "What's in there?"
He had just helped her, so Lianne decided not to argue. "A cello."
Seth Sinclair shoved his hands in his pockets, asking casually, "Stolen goods, huh? Where'd you nick the cello from?"
Lianne replied with patience and good humor, "It's not stolen. It's mine."
She didn't want to get tangled up with him any longer, so she said, "My friend is waiting for me, so I'll be going. And thank you for earlier."
Seth Sinclair watched as she walked past him and down the long corridor, stepping onto the deep red carpet.
