Back in the banquet hall, the birthday celebration was nearing its end. The older, more influential guests had already left, leaving only the young masters and ladies of the prominent families.
Lianne scanned her surroundings but couldn't find any sign of Ethan Sinclair.
She took out her phone, just about to send him a message, when she overheard a few young men chatting around the champagne tower.
"Mr. Sinclair and Miss Donovan went upstairs, and they still haven't come back down?"
"When old flames meet, it's like dry tinder and a raging fire. That kind of business takes a while. What's the rush? Are you that eager to start fawning over their future kid?"
"Bullshit! You're the one who's fucking eager to fawn over them."
