The young kitchen assistant wasn't an idiot. Of course, he knew what the official meant the moment he opened his mouth.
It was obvious the suspicion had fallen upon their kitchen.
But he and his master had only just arrived. How could they possibly do something like this!
"I'm not saying I suspect you."
"I suspect someone deliberately put poison in the food." Bingbing rubbed his forehead in frustration. 'Such a quick reaction is just going to cause a panic.'
'He didn't want to reveal his own presence so soon.'
'It would cause even more trouble down the line.'
"Huh? W-w-what? My master and I didn't see anyone suspicious." The young kitchen assistant grew even more flustered.
'Isn't he accusing us of dereliction of duty?'
Bingbing was left speechless. 'Sometimes, it seems like it's not a good thing for people to be too clever.'
"I'm not blaming you, I just came to ask a few questions."
