Shi Li pursed her lips in a smile and nodded. She didn't dislike Heili at all; in fact, she quite liked her.
She was just at a momentary loss for words.
"I brought gifts for everyone," Shi Li said. When she had first come in, she had done a quick count of the women present.
Just as she'd expected, there were remarkably few of them.
You could count them on two hands.
'I was worried I hadn't brought enough, but it looks like I brought too many.'
On cue, Heige came in, carrying a large box all by himself.
The other men rushed forward to help, but Heige turned them all down.
'These are Shi Li's things. How could I let someone else carry them? It's not like I'm incapable.'
When the large box was opened, everyone could see the formal gowns inside. Some even seemed to glow on their own under the lights.
"These are..." Heili was stunned. No one could turn down something so beautiful.
