"Heh, you take me for a three-year-old? If I actually let you go, you think you'd spare me?" The masked man looked at Aria Sterling as if she were a joke, a murderous glint slowly appearing in his eyes.
Her heart was pounding in her chest, but she forced herself to keep her expression calm.
"In that case, why don't you tell me who hired you? At least let me die knowing why."
Right now, every minute she could stall was another minute she bought herself to live.
The masked man chuckled again. "Sorry, no comment. People in our line of work have a code of honor. We don't reveal our client's information."
Aria Sterling suddenly found this rather amusing.
"What are you laughing at?" the man asked, confused. He couldn't understand how she could still be laughing at a time like this.
She raised an eyebrow, her tone casual. "I'm laughing because you don't even realize you're being used."
"What do you mean?" His eyes widened, clearly not understanding what Aria Sterling was saying.
