"Won't Lady Delores find out?" he asked hesitantly. "If she does..."
Emma chuckled at his expression and waved her hand dismissively. "You silly boy. You don't really think Lady Delores cares about little things like this, do you? After all, we—"
She seemed to remember something, but she swallowed her words before they could escape.
"Lady Delores has been very busy lately," she said evasively, picking up a box of decorations. "Besides, she's in a good mood these days. She won't blame me for something so minor."
"Is there a special occasion?" Having scored a free suit, Li Wei was quick to play the part of an eager subordinate, taking the box from Emma and walking with her out of the storeroom. "I haven't seen her much lately."
"Well, yeah," Emma said, walking behind Li Wei. "Lady Delores rarely comes to the shop anyway. This is just one of her many... enterprises."
"I see," Li Wei nodded. "Thanks."
He remembered Lady Delores's warning and didn't ask any more questions.
