The police car sped down the highway, the wind WHOOSHING past the windows.
Inside the car, however, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
The recording had ended. Willow Quincy was gone.
The two officers in the car looked grave. Neither of them spoke a word.
After what felt like an eternity, the silence in the car was shattered by anguished wails.
"My son! Oh, my son!"
Fiona Dalton was sobbing so hard she shook, her blood-choked cries enough to make one's skin crawl.
"AHHH! Drive faster! Take me to my son!"
"Brother!"
Hearing Fiona Dalton's cries, Cecilia Quincy instantly broke down as well.
She lowered her head, burying her face in her hands. She was crying too hard to speak, yet she desperately wanted to say something.
"I was wrong! I was wrong!" she shrieked, her voice filled with helpless agony.
"Brother, I was wrong, I really know I was wrong now! Please come back... Come back!"
