Charlotte Shaw: "Because my mom's coming to sleep with me in a little while!"
Felix Preston: "Oh..."
SLAM!
The door slammed shut right in front of him. Holding his pillow, he stood at the doorway, utterly dejected.
SLAM!
A few seconds later, a similar slam echoed from above him.
Felix Preston glanced upstairs and saw Mason Shaw trudging dejectedly down the stairs, a pale yellow, floral-patterned pillow in his hand.
"Mason?" Felix Preston called out, confused.
He looked over at the voice and gave Felix Preston a bitter smile. "Fancy seeing you here, Felix."
As he finished speaking, his gaze shifted downward and landed on the light green pillow with sheer lace trim in Felix Preston's hand. He froze for a moment, and the bitter smile on his face instantly morphed into a brilliant one.
"Well, well. You got kicked out, too?"
