"Unacceptable!" Siyu yelled in anger as she finished reading a new novel she got from the bookstore. She gritted her teeth, disappointment washing over her. She got up from the chair and left the library. She hailed a cab and got in. The driver glanced at her, curious about the young lady's distress.
"Ma'am, why are you upset?" The taxi driver asked with interest. Siyu took a breath venting out all her frustrations.
"This novel I was reading. It's so unfair. The second female lead Xu Baili died while helping the villain to get the female lead." Siyu yelled. The driver chuckled.
"How did it happen?" He asked.
"The villain Zhou Mo was obsessed with Li Xuan the female lead. Li Xuan loved Qin Yu, the male lead. Zhou Mo wanted Li Xuan and asked Xu Baili to help him not knowing she was in love with him. Xu Baili did everything she could to help Zhou Mo because she wanted him to be happy but she was hurting inside. He was chasing a woman who didn't even love him. Xu Baili ended up dying after being shot by Qin Yu's men when they kidnapped Li Xuan. " Siyu breathed after narrating the story to the driver.
"So that's how it all ended. What about the villain?" The taxi driver asked as he was so engrossed in the story.
"Before taking her last breath Xu Baili confessed her feelings to him. She died in his arms. Zhou Mo finally realized he lost someone who truly loved him. He got caught and was arrested. Li Xuan watched as he was being taken away. It's so unfair for Xu Baili." Siyu yelled tears brimming.
"If you were to play the role of Xu Baili what would you do?" The driver asked her.
Siyu did not hesitate and responded immediately. "If I were Xu Baili, I would make the villain love me instead and stop chasing after Li Xuan. Besides Xu Baili was too selfless. She sacrificed for others. She was an actress. She sacrificed her movie projects for Li Xuan and made her famous just because Li Xuan came from a poor family. Mxxxm. If I was Baili, I wouldn't care about anyone expect Zhou Mo." Siyu responded.
The driver chuckled, and suddenly the car started misbehaving. The driver panicked.
"Driver what's wrong?" Siyu asked fear beginning to creep in.
"Miss, t-the brakes are not working." The driver responded. Before Siyu could respond, the car crashed into a building and Siyu's vision went dark and she faintly heard police sirens.

Siyu blinked as she regained consciousness, her eyes adjusting to the bright lights. Wait, why was she in a make up room? She tried to move her hands but they felt smaller and unfamiliar. She looked around and her eyes landed on her reflection. She almost screamed but her vocals did not agree with her.
"W-who is this? " She whispered looking at her reflection. Her reflection looked different. The person in the the mirror had blonde hair, blue yes and pink, plump lips and her face was smaller but so beautiful. Siya couldn't help but admire the person in the reflection.
Her skin was flawless. The last thing Siyu remembered was talking to the taxi driver about a novel she read. She remembered the accident and the sirens.
"What the.." Before she could finish a voice interrupted her.
"Sister Baili, you've slept for too long. Are you tired?" A woman asked. She looked up and saw a lady who looked like she is in her early twenties.
'What Baili? Baili , wait Baili is from the novel I was reading.
'What the heck is going on?' Siyu thought.
"Miss Xu Baili, your schedule is free for the whole of the day. Miss Xuan was looking for you." Another voice echoed.
Siyu's eyes widened. Wait? She is being called Xu Baili which means she is in Xu Baili's body. Her eyes widened as she looked at her reflection.
"Calm down Siyu. Calm down. Let's understand what's going on first." She whispered to herself.
If she is Xu Baili then her assistant is called, Shi Yifei. She remembered Shi Yifei. She was fiercely loyal. She once told Shi Yifei about her love for Zhao Mo and she suggested for her to confess but she refused. Shi Yifei had warned her about giving Li Xuan her roles.
"Sister Baili what can we do today since you are free?" Shi Yifei asked softly. Siyu couldn't help but notice Shi Yifei's cute face. Since she was still in her early twenties Shi Yifei looked exactly like a teenager.
"Okay. You decide what to do." Xu Baili responded. She didn't want to rush into conclusions since she didn't know what's going on. She was still confused.
"How about we go to a spa? Sister Baili, you have been working so hard." Shi Yifei responded. Xu Baili nodded. She needed this. She needs to relax.
They left the make up room. She was curiously looking at her surroundings. She remembered that in the novel she worked for Golden Ent. It was run by Fang Zhuiyan. A man in his thirties.
"Sister Baili guess what?" Yifei said making Xu Baili curious.
"I heard from manager Song that you might get a contract for the female lead role. Remember Director Cho? He is the director of the new drama. It's an ancient drama." Yifei said.
Suddenly Xu Baili remembered about this drama in the novel. It was the one that made Lu Xuan famous. Lu Xuan came begging her to give her this role because she really needed it.
Xu Baili gave it to her because she was from a rich family so she didn't mind. She was already famous. Thinking about it Siyu realized that Xu Baili was too kind. Since she is now in Xu Baili's body then she will make sure nothing is taken away from her ever again.
They left the building and got in a black rolls Royce. Xu Baili drove in this car as it was given by her father. What Siyu remembered from the story is that Xu Baili came from a rich family. Her parents dotted on her so much. She was the only child. She suddenly felt the urge to meet her parents.
"Wait. Go to my family home." Xu Baili announced. Shi Yifei knew how Xu Baili is attached to her parents so she did not mind. Besides she was the assistant she can not decide for her boss.
Soon the car arrived at a villa. Xu Baili wowed internally. It looked modern. Yifei opened the door for her as she headed inside. Xu Baili was just looking around feeling amazed.
Soon she was welcomed by the butler. She got inside and saw a beautiful woman sitting on the couch reading a magazine while sipping wine.
"Mom." Xu Baili greeted. The woman stood up with a smile on her face and embraced Xu Baili.
"BaoBao, I missed you." The woman whined. BaoBao is the name Xu Baili's parents gave her. At first she used to whine about it but she liked it.
"I missed you too mom. Where is dad?" Xu Baili asked as a man came down the stairs. Xu Baili had to accept that her parents are indeed good looking. The man smiled at her.
"BaoBao, you came home. I'm happy to see you. Come here." Mr Xu Bing said happily. Xu Baili's parents were called Xu Bing and Xu Mengmei.
Xu Baili smiled and hugged her parents. From her memory of the book she remembered Xu Bing and Xu Mengmei always supported her. They also knew about her love for Zhao Mo. They even suggested to talk to him on her behalf but because of fear Xu Baili rejected.
"We have prepared something for you. I made all your favourites." Xu Mengmei said sweetly.
They headed to the dining area and started eating while chatting. After lunch, Siyu looked around the house. She saw family portraits. Xu Baili was happy in those pictures who would have known she died heart broken and empty.
Xu Baili sighed and went in her room. Her phone started ringing with the contact saved as Xuan appearing on the screen.
