Chapter 35 - The Bronze God's System: Crafting a Legend

The Failed Artisan and the Ancient Spark

The heat in the workshop was unbearable. In the small village of Dariyapur, the sun beat down on the tin roofs, but inside Dayal's shed, the fire was even hotter.

Dayal wiped the sweat from his forehead with a soot-stained hand. He looked at the clay mold in front of him. This was his tenth attempt at casting the "Sun-God Idol" using the ancient Dokra technique. Every other artisan in the village could do it in their sleep, but Dayal was different. His hands trembled. His metal never flowed quite right.

"Maybe Father was wrong," Dayal whispered, his voice cracking. "Maybe I am not meant to carry this legacy."

In this world, craftsmanship wasn't just a job—it was power. The Great Empires were built on "Spirit-Forged" weapons and "Mana-Infused" statues. Those who could craft the best items became Legends.

Dayal reached for the molten brass. As he tilted the crucible, a sudden dizzy spell hit him. His foot slipped on the dusty floor.

CLANG!

The heavy crucible tipped over. Molten metal splashed across the floor, narrowly missing his feet. But a small drop of the glowing, liquid brass landed right on an old, dusty bronze coin he wore around his neck—a family heirloom.

The coin hissed. A blinding golden light filled the shed.

Dayal covered his eyes, screaming as a sharp pain pierced his brain. Then, a cold, mechanical voice echoed in his mind:

[SYSTEM INITIALIZING...]

[99%... 100%]

[Welcome, Host. The Bronze God's System has been activated.]

[Current Rank: Level 1 Novice Artisan]

[Divine Talent Unlocked: Eye of Precision (Passive)]

Dayal froze. A blue semi-transparent screen was floating in the air right in front of him.

"A... a System?" he gasped. "Like the stories of the Awakened Heroes in the capital?"

He looked down at the spilled brass on the floor. Suddenly, his eyes changed. The spilled metal wasn't just a mess anymore. He could see glowing lines through it.

[Item: Low-Grade Brass Waste]

[Quality: Poor]

[Potential: Can be refined into 'Spirit-Refined Copper' with 10% efficiency.]

Dayal's heart hammered against his ribs. He wasn't a failure. He just didn't have the right eyes. Until now.

Chapter 2: The First Craft

Dayal didn't waste a second. He ignored the burns on his hands and grabbed a fresh piece of wax.

In Dokra art, you first make the shape with wax, then cover it with clay, then pour the metal. It was a slow, painful process. But with the System, everything felt different.

[Action: Wax Modeling]

[System Correction: Tilt the finger of the idol 2 degrees to the left for better spiritual flow.]

Dayal followed the instructions. His hands, which usually shook, were now steady as a rock. He felt a strange energy flowing from the System into his fingertips.

Hours passed. He didn't feel tired. He didn't feel hungry. He was in a trance.

Finally, he poured the brass into the clay mold. As the metal cooled, the System began to chime.

[Ding! Crafting Completed.]

[Evaluating Quality...]

[Quality: Rare (High Grade)]

[Stat Bonus: +5 Strength to the holder.]

[Experience Gained: 50 XP]

Dayal broke the clay mold. Inside was a small brass tiger. It wasn't just a toy. It glowed with a faint, bronze light. When he touched it, he felt a surge of power in his muscles.

"This is impossible," he muttered. "A simple brass tiger giving strength? This would sell for thousands of gold coins in the city!"

Suddenly, a loud bang sounded at his door.

"Dayal! You lazy brat!" a voice shouted. It was Kedar, the village bully and the son of the wealthy merchant. "The rent for this workshop is due. Give me the money, or get out!"

Dayal looked at his glowing tiger, then at the door. The old Dayal would have been afraid. But the "Bronze God" inside him was just waking up.

Chapter 3: The Merchant's Greed

Kedar kicked the door open. He was a large man, wearing silk robes that looked out of place in a dusty village. Behind him stood two guards holding iron spears.

"I don't have the coins yet, Kedar," Dayal said, standing up straight. He hid the glowing tiger behind his back.

"Then I take the tools," Kedar sneered, looking around the messy shed. "Wait... what is that smell? Is that... Spirit Brass?"

Kedar's eyes locked onto the small tiger in Dayal's hand. Even without a System, a merchant could smell value.

"Give that to me," Kedar demanded, reaching out.

"No. This is my first successful craft," Dayal replied firmly.

[Quest Triggered: Defend Your Craft]

[Goal: Refuse the bully and keep your first Rare-grade item.]

[Reward: 100 XP, Skill Book: 'Basic Metal Hardening']

[Failure: System Uninstalls.]

Dayal's eyes widened. Failure: System Uninstalls? That was not an option.

"I said NO," Dayal repeated.

Kedar laughed. "You? A failure who can't even melt lead? Guards, take it from him. Break his fingers if you have to."

As the guards stepped forward, Dayal felt the Tiger in his hand pulse. The +5 Strength bonus kicked in. His vision sharpened.

[Analyzing Enemy...]

[Guard A: Level 3 Fighter. Weakness: Left Knee.]

[Guard B: Level 2 Fighter. Weakness: Slow reaction.]

Dayal didn't wait. He swung a heavy wooden mold at the first guard's knee.

CRACK!

The guard screamed and fell. The second guard tried to thrust his spear, but to Dayal, it looked like he was moving through water. Dayal stepped aside and punched the guard in the stomach.

The strength of the "Bronze God" was real.

Kedar stepped back, his face pale. "You... you've been hiding your power! You're an Awakened!"

"Get out," Dayal said, his voice cold. "And tell your father I'll pay the rent tomorrow. In gold."

Kedar ran out, stumbling over his own robes. Dayal breathed a sigh of relief.

[Quest Completed!]

[Reward Issued: Skill Book 'Basic Metal Hardening' and 100 XP.]

[Level Up! You are now Level 2.]

[New Feature Unlocked: The System Shop.]

Chapter 4: The Path to Legend

Dayal sat on his stool, exhausted but exhilarated. He opened the System Shop.

There were items he had never heard of: Dragon Fire Charcoal, Heavenly Bronze Ore, Soul-Binding Wax. He realized that his village was too small for his dreams. To level up his System, he needed better materials. He needed to go to the Great City of Oakhaven, where the Guild of Artisans ruled.

But first, he had to prepare.

"If I can turn brass into strength," Dayal thought, "what can I do with silver? Or gold?"

He looked at the Skill Book he just received.

[Skill: Basic Metal Hardening]

[Effect: Increases the durability of any metal object by 50%.]

Dayal smiled. He picked up his hammer. He didn't see a dusty shed anymore. He saw the foundation of an empire.

"The world thinks Dokra is just an old tradition," he whispered to the shadows. "I will show them it is the ultimate power."

[System Notification: New Main Quest Generated.]

[Goal: Enter the Oakhaven Artisan Tournament.]

[Time Limit: 30 Days.]

Dayal began to work. The hammer hit the metal in a steady rhythm. Clang. Clang. Clang. It was the heartbeat of a new God.
