Chapter 69 - Chapter 69: A Sky Full of Dementors — “Radiant Sunlight” Clears the Field in One Second

News that Lucian refused to learn the Patronus Charm spread quickly throughout Hogwarts.

"Did you hear? Lucian turned down Professor Lupin's private lessons!"

"What? Why? That's the Patronus Charm!"

"Ravenclaw students say he openly said he wasn't interested in it!"

The entire school was confused.

To most students, Lucian was practically Hogwarts' guardian.

So why would he refuse one of the strongest defensive spells in existence?

But Lucian ignored the rumors completely.

The Storm Match

November in the Scottish Highlands meant cold rain and fierce winds.

The Gryffindor vs. Hufflepuff Quidditch match began in a violent downpour.

Wind roared across the stadium.

Rain lashed down like silver needles.

The entire field was covered in fog and gray mist.

But the players were determined.

Cedric Diggory flew like a hawk through the storm, searching for the Golden Snitch.

Oliver Wood shouted orders from the goalposts.

"Angelina! Watch your left!"

"Fred! George! Send that Bludger back!"

The match was intense.

Then—

Everything changed.

The Dementors Arrive

A terrible cold suddenly spread across the stadium.

Not the cold of rain.

A soul-freezing cold.

"What… what is that?!"

A student screamed and pointed at the sky.

Everyone looked up.

And I had a nightmare.

Hundreds of Dementors.

More than a hundred dark cloaked figures poured out of the clouds.

They surrounded the Quidditch stadium like a massive black ring.

Light disappeared wherever they flew.

Despair flooded the air.

Players on broomsticks suddenly felt dizzy.

Their brooms shook uncontrollably.

In the stands, students panicked.

Their happiest memories were being drained away.

Sorrow flooded their minds.

The sky darkened as if night itself had fallen.

The Quidditch field transformed into a battlefield of despair.

The Professors Fight Back

"EXPECTO PATRONUM!"

Dumbledore stood first.

His Elder Wand shone like a star.

A giant silver phoenix erupted from the light.

The majestic Patronus slammed into the swarm of Dementors.

A hole opened in the darkness.

"Professors—now!" McGonagall shouted.

Her wand flashed.

A silver tabby cat Patronus leapt forward.

Other professors joined.

Snape.

Flitwick.

Sprout.

Soon dozens of Patronuses filled the sky.

A silver stag galloped across the field.

A swift silver swallow darted through the air.

A sturdy silver badger defended the Hufflepuff stands.

The glowing guardians fought bravely.

But the Dementors were too many.

The darkness kept closing in.

Even Dumbledore's phoenix couldn't hold them back.

The silver lights grew dimmer.

Students screamed in terror.

"There are too many!"

"We're going to die!"

"Mom…"

Hogwarts had never faced such direct terror.

They weren't fighting a villain.

They were fighting darkness itself.

Lucian Moves

Just when hope seemed ready to collapse—

Lucian looked up.

He calmly observed the chaotic sky.

Then he shook his head slightly.

This farce had lasted long enough.

Instead of retreating—

He flew upward.

His small figure rose toward the massive army of Dementors.

Compared to them, he looked insignificant.

Like a speck of dust.

Yet the moment he rose—

Everyone noticed.

Students.

Professors.

Even the Dementors.

Lucian stopped in the center of the sky.

Right at the heart of the darkness.

He spread his arms.

Like a king embracing the world.

Then he closed his eyes.

And softly spoke.

"Radiant Sunlight."

The Sun Appears

The sky changed instantly.

Lucian's body became a blazing source of light.

He transformed into a sun.

Golden radiance exploded outward like a supernova.

Light flooded the sky.

The dark storm clouds vanished instantly.

The freezing rain evaporated into warm mist.

Within seconds—

The entire sky above Hogwarts became clear.

Bright.

Warm.

Like a perfect summer afternoon.

The light didn't just remove darkness.

It healed.

Students bathed in the golden glow.

The freezing despair in their hearts melted away.

Their fear vanished.

Hope returned.

Some even smiled through tears.

The End of the Dementors

But for the Dementors—

The sunlight was judgment.

The moment the golden light touched them—

They screamed.

A horrific sound filled the sky.

Their bodies disintegrated like burning paper.

Black cloaks dissolved.

Rotting hands turned to nothing.

They couldn't escape.

The light was everywhere.

One after another—

They vanished completely.

Not smoke.

Not ash.

Not even dust remained.

Every single Dementor was purified from existence.

Silence

The blazing sun slowly faded.

Lucian's figure reappeared in the sky.

The clear weather remained.

Warm sunlight still covered Hogwarts.

As if the nightmare had never happened.

The stadium fell into absolute silence.

Students stared upward like statues.

Their minds couldn't process what they had just witnessed.

High in the stands sat a special guest—

Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge.

His face was frozen in disbelief.

His green bowler hat slipped from his hand and fell into the mud.

He didn't even notice.

His mouth slowly opened.

Wide enough to swallow a Golden Snitch.

His political composure had completely vanished.

Only pure awe remained.

His lips trembled.

"Merlin's beard…"

He whispered weakly.

"What… what did I just see?"

He had seen a boy become a sun.

He had seen a sun erase a storm.

And he had seen that sun wipe out hundreds of Dementors—

As easily as steam evaporating in the air.
