Chapter 4: Clearing Up Misunderstandings
1. The Cold War Continues
Since the unpleasant breakup at the bubble tea shop, Lin Feng and Xia Yu had fallen into a cold war. They no longer spoke, no longer met, as if they had become the most familiar strangers.
The students at school also noticed the strangeness between them and discussed the matter. Some felt sorry for them, while others gloated, waiting to see a good show.
Lin Feng and Xia Yu both felt very painful. They clearly loved each other deeply, but they were drifting further and further apart because of a misunderstanding.
They both wanted to take the initiative to reconcile with each other, but they were too concerned about face, and neither was willing to bow their head first.
2. Li Wei's Persuasion
Li Wei was Xia Yu's best friend, and she saw it all and was anxious. She decided to talk to Xia Yu and persuade her to take the initiative to reconcile with Lin Feng.
"Xia Yu, are you really going to break up with Lin Feng?" Li Wei asked.
"I don't know," Xia Yu shook her head, her tone a little confused, "I just feel like he doesn't love me anymore."
"How could you think that?" Li Wei said, "Lin Feng's feelings for you, we all see it. How could he not love you?"
"But, I saw him with Li Li with my own eyes," Xia Yu said, "They were very close, and Li Li was comforting him. I feel like he doesn't need me anymore."
"You misunderstood," Li Wei explained, "That day Lin Feng lost the game and was in a bad mood. Li Li was just being kind and comforted him a few words. There's really nothing between them."
"Really?" Xia Yu asked with some doubt.
"Of course, it's true," Li Wei said affirmatively, "If you don't believe it, you can ask Lin Feng yourself."
3. Lin Feng's Explanation
Encouraged by Li Wei, Xia Yu decided to go to Lin Feng and ask him clearly.
She came to Lin Feng's classroom and saw him studying hard. She stood at the door, hesitated for a long time, and finally mustered the courage to walk in.
"Lin Feng, can I talk to you?" Xia Yu asked, her voice trembling slightly.
Lin Feng looked up and saw Xia Yu standing in front of him, and a surprised expression appeared on his face. He quickly stood up and said, "Of course."
The two came to the school's back garden and found a quiet place to sit down.
"Xia Yu, about what happened that day, I hope you can listen to my explanation," Lin Feng said.
"Okay, tell me," Xia Yu nodded.
Lin Feng told Xia Yu everything that happened that day. He explained that he and Li Li were just ordinary friends, and Li Li was just being kind and comforted him a few words. He emphasized that he only had Xia Yu in his heart and that he would never betray her.
After listening to Lin Feng's explanation, Xia Yu's tears couldn't stop flowing. She knew that she had misunderstood Lin Feng.
"I'm sorry, Lin Feng, I shouldn't have doubted you," Xia Yu said, choking with sobs.
"Silly girl, what are you saying sorry for?" Lin Feng gently wiped the tears from Xia Yu's face and said, "As long as you believe me, I'm very happy."
4. Reconciling
After the misunderstanding was resolved, Lin Feng and Xia Yu reconciled. They hugged each other tightly, feeling each other's warmth.
They knew that their relationship had undergone a test and had become stronger. They also understood that trust is very important in love.
Only by trusting each other can they overcome all difficulties and reach the end.
5. Li Li's Apology
Li Li saw that Lin Feng and Xia Yu had reconciled, and she was very unwilling. She knew that her conspiracy had completely failed.
She took the initiative to find Xia Yu and apologized to her. She said that it was because she liked Lin Feng too much that she did those things that hurt her. She hoped that Xia Yu could forgive her.
Xia Yu looked at Li Li's sincere eyes and chose to forgive her. She felt that everyone makes mistakes, and as long as they can recognize their mistakes and correct them, they deserve forgiveness.
Li Li was very grateful for Xia Yu's forgiveness. She decided to let go of her feelings for Lin Feng and start her life anew.
