Chapter 293 - Chapter 103: The Crimson Sunset & The Assassin’s Blush

Time: 05:00 PM – 07:30 PM

Date: December 1, 2025

Location: Lake Palace (Udaipur) - Private Deck & Courtyard

After the high-octane race across the dunes, the 12-SUV armored convoy pulled up to the main gate of the Lake Palace. As the 20 S-Rankers and 19 elite guards stepped out, the sight was comical—every single one of them was coated from head to toe in fine golden sand.

"Stop right there!" Dadi commanded from the entrance, her voice carrying the authority of a supreme military commander. Behind her, Shiva's Mother and Pooja stood in "Red Alert" mode. "Not a single grain of that desert is entering this Palace! Clean yourselves in the garden first, then you may step inside."

The world's most dangerous predators, men and women who were the harbingers of death for dungeon bosses, froze in their tracks. Without a single word of protest, Jaxson, Jin-Woo, and Alistair shuffled toward the garden hoses and decorative fountains. The elite guards (Asura and Raghav's team) scrambled to supply them with soap and premium towels.

Mason Steele laughed as he shook the sand from his coat. "Jon, this house is a more difficult battlefield than any SS-Rank gate." Jon smiled and nodded in agreement.

The Passive Fortress

Once everyone had scrubbed off the desert and settled into their royal suites, Adiraj finalized the Palace's security grid. The "Mobile Mana-Neutralizers" used in the desert were now switched to "Passive Mode" and positioned at the four corners of the Palace.

In this mode, the machines acted as a filter rather than a dome, protecting the ancient and delicate structure of the Lake Palace from the heavy, involuntary mana-leakage of the Sovereigns. The 13 Asura Elites and Raghav's team took their positions on the high walls and lakeside entrances. To the family, they looked like standard security; to an intruder, they were a wall of death.

Royal High-Tea & The Crimson Sky

By 5:45 PM, a private deck overlooking Lake Pichola hosted the "Royal High-Tea." The sun was setting, bleeding crimson and gold across the Udaipur skyline.

On the long silk sofas, the group of 50 sat in relaxed harmony. The Mother and Pooja, continuing their matchmaking campaign, had practically forced Sierra—who was wearing a light-blue sundress for the first time—to sit directly beside Shiva.

Sierra, the Rank 23 Calamity, looked down at her lap, her shyness far more potent than her combat prowess. When a waiter nearly stumbled and dropped a tea set, Sierra's assassin instincts flared. In a blur of motion invisible to the human eye, she caught the cup mid-air and placed it back on the saucer without spilling a single drop.

Shiva watched her and offered a small smile. "Nice reflexes," he whispered. Sierra's face instantly matched the crimson of the sunset.

Professional Respect

At a corner of the deck, leaning against the marble railing, stood Mason, Jon, and Adiraj. Maya Lin (Rank 18) was with them, meticulously checking the Pylon data on her tablet.

"Your planning is flawless, Adiraj," Mason remarked, watching the ripples on the lake. "To coordinate this level of luxury and security in such a short time... it's impressive."

Adiraj gave a faint, humble smile. "Planning has become second nature. After all these years, it's just muscle memory."

Jon looked at Maya and then at Adiraj. "You have to admit, the efficiency of these Pylons has increased significantly since you started working with Maya. Because of this tech, we can sit here in peace without worrying about the world sensing us."

Maya simply nodded. "The logic was simple, Jon. We adjusted the interference patterns to neutralize mana-vibrations at the source."

Rudra's Peace

While the others enjoyed Pyaz Kachoris and Mirchi Vadas, Rudra stood apart, leaning against a high pillar and staring at the lake.

For the first time in months, Rudra wasn't calculating threats. The stillness of the water and the fading sunlight provided a rare moment of genuine tranquility. Even the Ruin Soul within his mind was uncharacteristically quiet.

Suddenly, Kiara and Kabir ran up to him, tugging at his shirt. "Bhaiya! Bhaiya! Come quickly! Dadi is calling you for snacks. The hot kachoris will be gone!"

Rudra looked down at them, and a genuine, soft smile broke across his usually serious face. He took their hands. "Alright, let's go. We shouldn't keep Dadi waiting." He led the children back to the dining area, where the world's strongest beings were laughing together like a real family.

07:30 PM. Night had fallen, and every balcony of the Lake Palace sparkled with light. The group was cocooned in happiness, oblivious to the world outside. Shiva looked around at the peaceful scene and made an announcement: "Rest up, everyone. Dinner and a traditional Rajasthani puppet show are starting soon!"
