Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: The Eye of the Machine

The Calm After the Storm (Day 10)

Ten days have passed since Rudra first arrived in Delhi. In the five days since he woke from his coma, he has learned to balance his body against the crushing weight of his own potential. That massive, suffocating SSS+ ruin aura—the one that nearly leveled the training hall—has been completely integrated. The Ruin Stone has dissolved that energy into Rudra's very atoms, making it invisible to both the naked eye and standard scanners.

Rudra now looks like an ordinary 17-year-old boy: quiet, slightly tired, and seemingly harmless. But behind his eyes, the cold calculation of Level 23 remains as sharp as ever.

The Descent into Sub-Level S-01

"Come on, Rudra. Today, I'm going to show you the 'Real Brain' of the N.D.A.," Adiraj said. They were in a high-speed elevator, plummeting toward the deepest foundations of the headquarters.

Adiraj was more animated than usual. "The N.D.A. recruited a new kid, Kavir. He's only B-Rank, but his mind is faster than most S-Rank scientists. He's building something that will change how we look at Hell Gates forever."

The elevator screen flickered as the floors flew by: B-10... B-12... B-15.

When the doors hissed open, the atmosphere shifted. The air hummed with the high-frequency vibration of Magitech. Cables snaked across the floor like veins, glowing mana-pipes illuminated the corridors, and silent security drones patrolled the ceiling.

The Technical Threat: The Omega Scanner

Adiraj led Rudra to a massive reinforced glass wall. This was Lab S-01—Kavir's domain.

Inside, Kavir was meticulously assembling a gargantuan machine that resembled a mechanical eye. He was so deeply immersed in his work that he didn't even glance at the figures standing outside. Rudra's gaze, however, was fixed on the machine Kavir called the "Omega Scanner."

"Master... be cautious," the Ruin Soul's voice echoed like a cold warning in Rudra's mind.

Rudra realized this machine wasn't just scanning for raw mana; it was calculating the 'patterns' of existence. Even though Rudra had suppressed his aura, the machine was designed to find the 'Ghost Signals'—the anomalies that standard sensors would ignore as errors.

The Threat: This machine was built to hunt things that shouldn't exist.

The Realization: For the first time, Rudra didn't feel threatened by a monster. He felt threatened by a machine. This cold, unfeeling logic could potentially unmask the SSS+ truth hidden behind his 'Diamond Tier' status.

"Kavir is a bit... eccentric, so we won't go in," Adiraj whispered, patting Rudra on the shoulder. "But soon, this machine will scan every dunger in the country. No one will be able to hide their true rank or power anymore."

The Ghost Signal

At that exact moment, a red light on Kavir's console flickered. Kavir stopped mid-motion and checked his monitors.

"What is it?" a senior engineer asked, leaning over.

Kavir looked toward the glass wall where Adiraj and Rudra stood. He saw the S-Rank hero and the thin boy beside him. On Kavir's screen, an 'Unknown Waveform' had appeared for exactly 0.1 seconds before vanishing into nothingness.

"Nothing," Kavir said quietly, returning to his work. "Just a sensor glitch. Probably interference from Adiraj-sir's lightning aura."

But the pattern remained etched in Kavir's mind. It was a waveform that looked like 'Empty Space,' yet that void carried a terrifying, mathematical weight.

The Silent Exit

Rudra pulled his hood lower, maintaining a 100% output on his [SOVEREIGN'S VEIL]. He understood now that technology was becoming his most dangerous adversary.

"Shall we go?" Rudra asked, his voice as cold as usual.

"Yeah, let's go. Training time," Adiraj laughed, leading him back toward the elevator.
