Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Devouring Bloodlines

-----

Ding!

[You have successfully used your Trait: Evolution to awaken and fuse Sigrid's Bloodlines into the Burning Frost Dracofish Bloodline – Tier 3: Rank 1!]

[All of Sigrid's Stats have increased drastically!]

[She has gained Dual Elemental Affinity (Blaze & Frost), Crystalline Horn Growth, Enhanced Mana Reserves, and Flame-Hair Manifestation.]

Sigrid had obtained an unexpectedly powerful bloodline, and its effects turned out to be even stronger than they had anticipated. After she successfully manifested it, I helped her carefully regulate the intense transformation and guided her back to her original form. I then gave her a Mana Elixir to help restore her depleted energies.

"Wow, that was something else," she sighed, still catching her breath. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have almost passed out like that."

"It's fine. It was an incredibly strong bloodline," I reassured her. "Besides, it will take some time for you to fully control it with your current physique. So take it easy for now and only use a portion of its power until you get used to it."

"Got it," she nodded, looking visibly pumped up and excited despite her exhaustion.

"Okay, now that everyone has grown stronger, let's see," I said, rubbing my chin thoughtfully. "Who would be the best fit for the Ice Giant Bloodline?"

"You should keep it, dear," my mother said gently. "You could obtain something as impressive as Sigrid did if you drink it. I believe it's better if you gain as much strength as possible. You are our pillar, after all."

"You already did us a huge favor. I'm not taking anything else from you," my brother added firmly.

"Ah… well, if you both insist," I sighed. "Let's see then."

While my family and friends sparred and tested their newly awakened abilities, I took a moment to check my inventory.

[Bloodline Elixir – Ice Giant Bloodline (A+ Grade)] x1

[Sorrowful Frost King's Magic Ice Armor (A+ Grade)] x1

[Sorrowful Frost King's Ice Broadsword (A+ Grade)] x1

[Sorrowful Frost King's Ice Crown (A+ Grade)] x1

[Pseudo Divine Talent Awakening Selection Scroll (A+ Grade)] x2

Those scrolls looked incredibly powerful. I decided I should use one myself and gift the other to someone who needed it. The question was who? They would probably refuse unless I insisted.

"Hmm…"

My eyes fell on little Krarlak, who was cheerfully chasing my brother around. He clearly needed more protection. Giving him one of the Talent Awakening Scrolls might help keep him safer. I did not want to use Evolution on him yet, since it could trigger sudden and painful changes in his young body. For now, it was best to let the baby grow naturally.

Nevertheless, it was time to drink the Ice Giant Bloodline Elixir.

I opened the bottle and downed its entire cold contents in a single gulp.

"Gulp… eugh."

The taste was unpleasant, and the liquid was so freezing that my entire body stiffened almost instantly. My temperature dropped sharply, and my blood pressure decreased dramatically.

Then, it happened.

FLAAASH!

A brilliant explosion of azure light burst from my body. For a brief moment, I gasped as I felt myself being pulled somewhere else entirely.

I saw a great palace of frost and five gigantic figures standing before me. They gazed at me with sharp, piercing azure eyes. No words were spoken, yet they observed me intently. Suddenly, I snapped back to reality, realizing it had all been a strange hallucination.

"Cough… what the hell was that?"

As I coughed, I cried out in disbelief. My arm had suddenly turned completely blue. My skin shifted rapidly from its usual near-bronze tone to a pale, icy blue within seconds.

"What the…!"

The changes did not stop there. My skin soon returned to normal as the blue hue and my original tone merged together. In the end, my original skin color prevailed. However, the pale blue essence did not disappear. Instead, it transformed into raw power and fused with my existing bloodline.

BA-DUM!

BA-DUM!

BA-DUM!

My heart beat faster and faster, pounding so hard it felt like it might burst from my chest. Then, slowly, steam began rising from my entire body, enveloping me completely.

"Phew… is it done?"

I stood up gradually, feeling significantly stronger and somehow different. My outward appearance remained the same, yet I could sense that I had gained something far greater.

[You have awakened the Ice Giant Bloodline – Tier 3!]

[Your Bloodline: Two-Horned Fire Lizard Bloodline – Tier 3: Rank 1 (B Rank) has fought against the new bloodline for dominance within your body.]

[Both Bloodlines have begun fighting…]

[Your Bloodline has won, devouring the Ice Giant Bloodline.]

[Your Bloodline: Two-Horned Fire Lizard Bloodline – Tier 3: Rank 1 (B Rank) has evolved into Three-Horned Infernal Frost Giant Wyrm Bloodline – Tier 4: Rank 1 (A Rank)!]

[You awakened the Bloodline Ability: Infernal Frost Giant Wyrm Transformation – Tier 4!]

[You awakened the Bloodline Ability: Frost Flame Infernal Breath – Tier 4!]

[Your other Bloodline Abilities have Ranked Up to Tier 4.]

[All of your Stats have increased by +2,000!]

[You have Awakened the Trait: Wyrm Scales (A)!]

[You have Awakened the Spell Skill: Frost Fire Manipulation – Tier 2: Level 1/10!]

"Awesome…" I muttered, feeling a powerful surge of energy course through my veins.

My bloodline was truly insane. It could devour other bloodlines and grow stronger that way? This method sounded much faster and more efficient than hunting and eating lizard monsters until I reached my limit.

Maybe I should learn how to refine bloodline elixirs myself using monster corpses. That way, I could continuously nourish and strengthen my bloodline. Still, this result was amazing. I had now become a Wyrm, which meant I was only one or two steps away from reaching true Dragon status. Perhaps by Tier 6?

I had even gained a new Trait, a new Spell Skill, and a massive boost to all my stats. I felt deeply satisfied. This success almost made the frustration of forgetting to use the Goblin King Ring on the Boss fade away.

Because yes, I had forgotten to activate it during the fight. Now that he was dead, the opportunity was gone. The battle had simply been too intense for me to keep track of every item effect at all times.

Still, there were plenty of rewards here to ease that regret.

Alright, let's see the rest of the items now.

-----

[Sorrowful Frost King's Magic Ice Armor]

[Item Type]: Full Magic Armor Set

[Item Grade]: A+ Grade

[Item Requirements]: None

[Item Parameters]: Physical Defense: 30,000 | Magic Defense: 30,000 | Durability: 100,000

[Item Bonuses]: +30% Strength, Vitality, Mana, Endurance, Resistance, Spirit

[Item Skills]: {Magic Ice Armor Transformation} {Superior Ice Resistance} {Armor Break Mode}

[Item Description]: The powerful, magical, and shapeshifting ice armor once worn by the Sorrowful Frost King Ezekiel in battle. It can shapeshift at will, absorb mana from the surrounding environment, and grant exceptional resistance against ice attacks. If the armor is completely shattered, it can unleash Armor Break Mode, sacrificing defense in exchange for greatly enhanced agility, movement speed, dexterity, and critical strike rate.

-----

"It has the same power that the boss possesses?!" I gasped in awe. "This is so cool!"

I equipped the armor immediately. It started as a simple chest plate, but the moment I put it on, it glowed with a brilliant light and connected directly to my mana flow and even my soul.

Right after, the armor expanded rapidly. Beautiful crystals of ice spread across my entire body, covering me from head to toe in mere seconds. The sensation was incredible. I could shapeshift it freely as the description stated. I extended the gloves into giant sharp claws and even generated sharp icicles directly from the armor itself, though doing so consumed its durability at a noticeable rate.

The best part was that it functioned like a Spirit Relic. With a simple tap, the armor turned ethereal and vanished completely, becoming invisible while still providing its full effects. I gave it a mental command to instantly harden and activate the moment danger approached.

-----

[Sorrowful Frost King's Ice Broadsword]

[Item Type]: Magic Weapon, Broadsword

[Item Grade]: A+ Grade

[Item Requirements]: Warrior Class

[Item Parameters]: Physical Attack: 40,000 | Magic Attack: 20,000 | Durability: 80,000

[Item Bonuses]: +50% Strength | +200% Ice Power | -15% Speed

[Item Skills]: {Mountain Cleaver} {Antarctic Wrath} {Frost Sword Rain}

[Item Description]: The precious sword of the Frost King Ezekiel, a weapon he used to slay his enemies with overwhelming power and ruthlessness. It is capable of splitting mountains, unleashing an endless sea of frost, and summoning a devastating rain of ice swords. Exquisitely crafted by ancient Ice Giant blacksmiths to ensure victory for their king.

-----

"Incredible. This sword is amazingly strong!" I exclaimed. "I guess I'm dropping the hammer. I only have enough hands after all… wait, do I?"

I considered giving the hammer to my father, but then realized I could still keep it for throwing attacks using Tomahawk Boomerang. Besides, Holy Smite required an axe or hammer, and the hammer also had its own smite ability that could combine with the skill.

I decided to keep it for now. Maybe I could grow a third arm using Spiritual Projection and wield all three weapons at once? Though I had zero practice with that technique, so it would take time to master.

Even though the broadsword reduced my speed by 15%, the bonuses more than made up for it. A 50% increase in strength was already insane, and the possibility of using Frost Sword Rain left me excited. However, when I tested the feeling, I realized the skill would consume nearly 70% of my mana in one go. Just how much mana did Ezekiel have? This was ridiculous.

Still, the weapon felt perfect in my hands.

-----

[Sorrowful Frost King's Ice Crown]

[Item Type]: Armor, Helmet

[Item Grade]: A+ Grade

[Item Requirements]: Magician Class

[Item Parameters]: Physical Defense: 15,000 | Magic Defense: 30,000 | Durability: 50,000

[Item Bonuses]: +30% Mana, Resistance, Spirit. | +300% Ice Power | +200% Magic Power

[Item Skills]: {Frost Shaping} {Sorrowful Frost King's Domain} {Ice Guardian Creation}

[Item Description]: The ancient divine crown said to have been crafted using the bones of a mythical ice titan and forged with the core of a powerful ice elemental. Once worn by the Sorrowful Frost King Ezekiel to command his endless army of Ice Golems. It grants the user the ability to freely manipulate and create ice, as long as they possess sufficient mana.

-----

The crown was an incredible item, but the mana cost for its skills was utterly shocking. Even with my large mana pool, I could barely create a small Ice Golem the size of Krarlak before my reserves ran completely dry.

For the sake of saving my Mana Elixirs, I decided the crown was too expensive to use actively for the time being. Still, the passive bonuses to mana, resistance, spirit, and ice power were excellent. Even when I stacked all three items together, I would need a monstrous amount of mana to use the crown to its full potential.

Perhaps Ylva could make better use of it. She was the village's greatest magician and possessed an immense mana pool. Or maybe I could use it effectively once we reached the evolved Mana Diamond and stayed near the Magic Towers, where our mana would be constantly replenished.

For now, I kept the crown equipped on my head to enjoy its constant bonuses.

"Now, this…"

I looked at the two Talent Awakening Selection Scrolls and walked toward little Krarlak.
