From my spot, I also peeked to see what was happening, and managed to see Xavier frowning while rubbing his temple. Did something bad happen?… he looks suddenly stressed out.
It wasn't something I was used to seeing in Xavier, even at the company where stressful things are bound to happen. He usually wore a stern look here but it was never one that said "fucking hell, not again" kind of line.
"Was it something with the project? Did we mess up something?" This time quite concerned, Ben started to guess, and Patricia and Tyler joined.
"I hope not..."
"Yeah. Don't say that, it brings bad luck."
"… I've been dying for weeks now, if we messed something up I won't see tomorrow this time…" Tyler said in pain.
"Guys, Ethan's coming," worried that it could be true, I told them, "why don't we ask him since he was with them? He must know what happened."
