Chapter 1 - The City of Blue Fireflies

Part: 1)

At exactly midnight, the city changes its color.

By day, everyone knows it as busy, dusty, and loud—but when night falls, it transforms into a world glowing with light. Not electric light. Fireflies.

But these are not ordinary fireflies—they are blue.

The city is called Shiuli Nagar. On the map, it's just a tiny dot. Yet strangely, nowhere else in the world can blue fireflies be found.

In this city lived a thirteen-year-old girl named Ira. Ira had a peculiar habit. Every night she climbed up to the rooftop and stared at the sky. While others counted stars, Ira counted fireflies.

Her grandfather used to say,

"The day the blue fireflies gather and form a circle, the city will reveal its secret."

Ira believed him. Because her grandfather never told stories—he told "memories."

Part: 2)

One night, Ira noticed something unusual. The fireflies were not flying randomly. They were forming a pattern, as if guided by an invisible hand.

Suddenly, across the sky, they created a perfect circle—just as her grandfather had once said.

Her heart pounded.

At that very moment, the old wooden box in the corner of the rooftop began to tremble.

It had belonged to her grandfather. No one had opened it since he passed away.

Slowly, Ira opened the box.

Inside was an old compass. But instead of north, south, east, and west, the directions read:

"Memory"

"Forgotten"

"Courage"

"Return"

The needle spun and stopped at "Courage."

Just then, the fireflies descended onto the rooftop. Together, their light formed a door—floating in the air.
