Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: GG!

"Let's just get back to business."

Surshana helped Brilliant-Angel-Mao~Miao up from his bow, accepting the apology while steering the conversation back on track. "How exactly do you plan to use Wind Magic to solidify your status as the 'Wind God'?"

As Surshana asked, he glanced toward the soldiers guarding the perimeter. Calca could read the worry in the glowing pinpoints within those skeletal eye sockets—he was concerned about being overheard. Although some cold, dark tentacles had briefly flickered into existence, they eventually retreated back into the abyss. The soldiers remained completely oblivious.

"Well, honestly, I just don't want to seem like a fraud," Brilliant-Angel-Mao~Miao replied, his tone becoming more practical. "Of the six of us, I'm the unluckiest as a Paladin. I don't have a single elemental spell; I only managed to snag the 'Wind God' seat because of these wings. But do these wings really have that much to do with a Wind God?"

He turned sideways helplessly. Six pieces of silver equipment detached from his armor and hovered behind his back. As they opened up, torrents of pale green particles erupted, forming pairs of energy wings that looked distinctly like something out of a mecha anime.

Brilliant-Angel-Mao~Miao continued, "If the other races found out, wouldn't they laugh themselves to death? I really ought to do something."

Surshana nodded in agreement. Originally, because Alah Alaf's Priest class was a better fit for the "God of Light," Brilliant-Angel-Mao~Miao had been shoehorned into the "Wind God" position. Brilliant-Angel-Mao~Miao then held up a badge.

"The Weather Badge?" Surshana instantly recognized the Relic-class (Level 61–70) item from the guild warehouse. It could release various area-of-effect weather spells, ranging from the Sixth-Tier [Chain Lightning] to the lower-tier [Mist Bank].

In this world, where almost no one besides the Dragon Lords had ever witnessed Tier Magic, this item was certainly more than sufficient.

"So, you brought me here just to help you test the badge?" Surshana gave a carefree laugh. "Bring it on!"

"Hehe, then you'd better watch out." Brilliant-Angel-Mao~Miao activated the badge.

[Mist Bank]

Instantly, a white mist enveloped the training ground. Calca was curious to see what happened next, but she suddenly felt a violent pulling sensation and was abruptly yanked out of the dream. A massive flood of magical knowledge poured into her mind; the construction of magic circles and the intricate details of incantations were forcibly absorbed by her brain.

She had learned [Mist Bank].

Calca gasped for air, her chest heaving. She realized something was wrong: she hadn't been kicked out of the space in the usual way. Looking around, the radiance on Brilliant-Angel-Mao~Miao's body had dimmed to a terrifying degree. It seemed the cost of transmitting the knowledge for a high-level spell was far beyond her imagination; even though she had only seen the beginning of the dream, the consumption had nearly hit the limit.

The "Sustainable Fleecing" plan had to be strictly enforced, or she would literally suck him dry. Calca tried to find some gallows humor in the situation: If I can solve the energy consumption problem, I might actually hit the Tenth Tier before Ainz arrives.

This daydream briefly eased the throbbing pain in her head. However, in the very next second, Calca realized her vision was suddenly soaring upward. She felt as if she had been tossed into the clouds, even performing a somersault in mid-air.

And then, she saw a headless body below her.

It was her own. She had been decapitated.
