Chapter 27 - my own funeral

Chapter: "My Own Funeral (According to Section E)"

(Jay's POV)

I should have skipped school that day.

The moment I entered Section E, I felt it.

The air.

The silence.

The danger.

Felix was smiling too sweetly.

Cin wouldn't even look at me.

Rory and Wrdix were whispering like villains in a drama.

Blaster was standing near the board holding… flowers?

Why were there flowers?

"Why do you all look like you're planning a crime?" I asked slowly.

David gasped. "She knows."

"I don't know anything," I replied, immediately suspicious.

Keifer was sitting calmly at his desk, pretending to read a book. But the corner of his lips? Slightly raised. Mischievous.

That smirk.

I narrowed my eyes at him.

"You're involved."

He didn't even look up. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Liar.

Before I could interrogate him further, Blaster suddenly clapped loudly.

"ATTENTION, SECTION E!"

Oh no.

Emman dragged a chair to the center of the classroom. Mayo spread a random cloth on it like it was some royal throne. Kit dimmed the lights by partially closing the curtains.

Why were they setting up a stage?

Cin stepped forward dramatically.

"Today," he announced, "we gather here to witness a very emotional moment."

Felix added, "A historic moment."

Eren wiped fake tears. "A moment that will change Section E forever."

I froze.

"WHAT MOMENT?" I shouted.

Rory and Wrdix pulled out two paper crowns.

Paper. Crowns.

My eyes widened.

"No."

Calix grinned. "Yes."

Before I could escape, Yuri gently pushed me toward the chair in the center.

"Sit, bride."

"BRIDE?!" I almost choked.

The whole class screamed dramatically.

Keifer finally stood up, walking slowly toward me like he was enjoying every second of my suffering.

"You all are dead," I warned.

Felix placed one paper crown on my head.

Cin turned to Keifer. "Groom, please step forward."

The class started clapping rhythmically.

Keifer came and stood next to me, hands in his pockets, trying not to laugh.

I whispered angrily, "If you smile, I will actually murder you."

He leaned closer and whispered back, "You look cute."

My heart skipped.

WHY DID IT SKIP?

Blaster cleared his throat dramatically.

"As the unofficial priest of Section E, I declare this fake ceremony open."

David held a notebook like it was some holy book.

Emman threw flower petals made from torn notebook paper.

"This is illegal!" I shouted.

Felix raised his hand. "Do you, Jay, accept this disaster of a human—"

"I REJECT."

The class burst into laughter.

Cin continued loudly, "—to argue with you for the rest of your school life?"

I crossed my arms. "I already do that."

"See?" Rory shouted. "She accepted!"

"No I didn't!"

Keifer finally spoke, loud enough for everyone to hear.

"I accept."

The class screamed like they just witnessed a real confession.

My face burned. "YOU WHAT?"

He shrugged casually. "Seems fun."

That was it.

I stood up, removed the paper crown, and threw it at Felix.

"You all need therapy."

Mayo clutched his heart. "She's shy."

Eren nodded. "Classic bride behavior."

Calix pointed at us. "Look at them standing so close."

I realized we were actually standing very close.

Too close.

I stepped back quickly.

Keifer noticed.

And smirked.

The bell rang, but no one cared. They were too busy replaying my embarrassment.

As I sat down, I glared at Section E.

"They're insane."

But a small part of me?

Didn't hate it.

And that scared me more than the fake wedding.
