Chapter 9 - the beginning

The door slid open for Hidara and Rin, and they were greeted by Mrs. Widad with a warm smile that seemed to wash away the weariness of the road. She asked Rin in a voice overflowing with tenderness: "How was your first day at school, dear?" Rin swallowed a bitter lump and whispered to herself: «It was a hell that tightened around my breath», but she painted a faint smile and said aloud: "It was very beautiful.. I'll go now to shower and change my clothes."

"Alright, dear. Dinner is ready, don't be late." As Rin headed to her room, she thought: "I feel hot. I'll shower first, then I'll come back to learn cooking and help Aunt Widad." While she was preparing, ghosts of the past rushed toward her, and memories of her father, "Kamel," flirted with her imagination. She saw herself as a little girl calling to him: "Dad... Dad! Look what I cooked for you today." Her father replied in her imagination: "It looks delicious, my little girl." Then he tasted it, trying to hide his reaction on his face, laughing: "Khkhkh... It's very salty! But I will eat it all for you." Rin laughed at that funny memory, and soon a faint smile covered her face. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she whispered: "I promise you, Dad... I will do my best to live. Don't worry, Dad, I will be fine."

On the dark side of the city, the atmosphere was charged. Ghayhab sighed with a provocative coldness as he looked at Shikar: "It seems I'm going to go have a little fun.. care to join me?" Shikar did not respond with words; instead, the answer came thunderously from the hilt of his sword. A wave of raw energy erupted, violently shaking the alley walls until the stones nearly crumbled. With a gaze dripping with blood, he said: "I do not 'play' with the likes of you." He drew his sword completely, and from it, "Forbidden Energy" emanated like black smoke tearing through the air. Ghayhab mocked as he took a step back: "Hey.. that look of yours suddenly scares me.."

Time ceased to exist! In less than the blink of an eye, Shikar's blade was brushing the air at Ghayhab's neck. Ghayhab's mind screamed a warning: «Fast! Duck now or your head will fly!». He arched his body with terrifying flexibility, evading death by millimeters, but Shikar gave him no chance to breathe. Shikar spun like a cyclone, directing a swift low strike to paralyze Ghayhab's legs. With acrobatic prowess, Ghayhab leaped into the air, and while he was suspended between heaven and earth, Shikar unleashed an aerial sword strike loaded with a massive concentration of Forbidden Energy. Ghayhab felt death approaching, so he coated his hands with counter-energy in fractions of a second. (Impact!).. The scream of metal rang out and the energies collided. From the force of the explosion, Ghayhab's body flew like a projectile through the air, crashing into a building behind him with seismic force that shattered the wall and turned it into rubble.

Jin looked back, terror etched onto his face. He whispered:

«Don't joke with me.. not now.»

Suddenly, a man with short yellow hair and light clothing appeared before him. Davy whispered:

«Don't fear for the others... fear for yourself.»

A terrifying smile played on his lips, and his fists were wrapped in Forbidden Energy.

Jin whispered: «Where did this one come from? I must concentrate Forbidden Energy on my stomach.. No, no, no time, it won't save me!»

Before Jin could finish his thought, Davy's fist pierced the void at supersonic speed. The first punch to the stomach was so powerful it created a shockwave that tore the fabric of his clothes and knocked the breath out of him. Davy followed immediately with a second concentrated punch to the ribs; Jin's entire body shook as if struck by lightning, and he lost his balance for moments as consciousness began to withdraw from his eyes.

Davy did not give him a chance to fall; instead, he finished his assault with a swift punch to the face, enough to launch him into the air like a cannonball. Jin's body flew tens of meters to collide with a parked car, completely smashing its metal frame and turning it into wreckage.

The sounds of car alarms exploded in the area, and the screams of onlookers rose as they fled from the horror of what they saw, while Davy stood amidst the rising dust, looking at his victim with a chilling calmness.

Amidst the rising dust, a hand emerged from the shadow of the collapsed wall.. Ghayhab stepped out with a terrifying smile, hands in his pockets as if nothing had happened.

Shikar gripped his blade tightly and whispered in despair: «I know this didn't affect him.. he is a human monster».

Ghayhab whispered in a voice that filled the place with terror:

— «It seems I'm going to enjoy myself here.»
