Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 – “The Rule That Doesn’t Apply”

Morning light spread across Aqualis Village.

Ocean Counter walked as usual.

No change in expression.

No change in pace.

But the air around him subtly adjusted, as if reality itself preferred stability when he was present.

In the classroom, Kael frowned again.

"…It's happening again."

Lyra looked at him.

"What is?"

Kael hesitated.

"It's like everything is working… but it keeps fixing itself before I notice it's wrong."

Ocean sat at his desk.

Quiet.

Still.

Ordinary.

But within him—something always existed.

A system that did not need instruction.

A magic that did not need limits.

A response that never required learning.

Limitless Magic & Adaptive Spells.

It was not activated.

It was not controlled.

It simply existed as part of him.

Outside perception, reality attempted to apply structure.

Cause. Effect. Rule. Logic.

But the moment it reached Ocean—

it adjusted.

Not broken.

Not denied.

Just… rewritten into something that fit him naturally.

As if his existence had always been part of the system's design.

Kael suddenly spoke without meaning to.

"…Ocean?"

Ocean looked up slightly.

"What?"

Kael paused.

"…Nothing."

He didn't know why he asked.

Far away, Kiyo Jian observed silently.

"So that's it…"

He narrowed his eyes.

"His magic doesn't override the world…"

"It adapts as if the world was already meant to include him."

Ocean opened his notebook.

Class continued.

Nothing seemed unusual.

But the rules of reality quietly recalculated themselves again…

without announcing it.
