Chapter 14 – The Secret Meeting
That night, Arjun was summoned privately.
Not by teachers.
By the white-haired examiner.
They met underground.
Deep beneath the academy.
In a sealed chamber.
"My name," the man said calmly,
"is Director Arvind Rao."
He placed a file on the table.
"Your power is not normal. And the demon recognized you."
Arjun stayed silent.
Arvind continued.
"Long ago, there existed beings called Monarchs. Entities of destruction."
Arjun's fists tightened.
"The Abyss has chosen you," Arvind said softly.
"And if you lose control…"
"The city dies."
Heavy silence filled the room.
Arvind leaned forward.
"You have two choices."
"Leave the academy."
"Or join a special unit that monitors abnormal awakeners."
Arjun didn't hesitate.
"I won't run."
For the first time—
Arvind smiled.
"Good."
Because something worse than demons…
