"My King, I don't quite understand why you said you were expecting us," Lord Nikolai said as he stepped farther into the Grand Hall.
"State your purpose for your visit, Nikolai. The full moon run is happening tonight, so I'm quite busy, and I don't have all day," Enzo said, leaning back in his chair.
Nikolai glanced at Cedric before turning his attention back to the King.
"My King, there are rumors circulating throughout the kingdom, particularly after Lady Arabella called you her mate during her fight with Elara," Nikolai said carefully.
"You want to know if it is true?" Enzo asked.
Nikolai nodded. "Well, my answer is that it is none of your business. So, is that all?"
Nikolai's expression tightened. He turned toward Cedric again, who had been quietly listening to their conversation, before looking back at Enzo.
