10:15 Am. Moments after the horn was blown, the sun was covered by thick white clouds m
"Can you two please wait for me, I'll be back as soon as possible." Thomas ordered two of his men, they nodded in agreement.
He mounted a horse and rode through the confusion in the town.
People entering wagons and carriages and those running helter-skelter, there was disorder and he was in the midst of it.
The soldiers tried their best to keep everything coordinated, but something worse than panic was occurring.
"The town is in danger, please try to depart from here as soon as possible, load the wagons with as many people..
The shaking from earlier was from a beast hitting it, there's no guarantee it won't get hit agai-." A soldier said was evacuating the residents guiding their paths.
"That's a lie, their lying! There's no danger!
There's no beast!!"A man screamed within the crowd.
The soldiers face froze in disbelief.
And with that a resistance started, his words had planted seeds of doubts creating a chain reaction that gradually shifted the opinions of the masses.
"Yeah! Why do we have to leave!"
"This is going to set back my business by a lot, I have to open early."
"I'm not going anywhere!"
And just like that, their opinions were split and the evacuation was slowed.
They were still unbelieving to the news and saw no cause to leave, for the words of caution from the soldiers were nothing but words to them.
They took it as the army fear mongering on the basis of the events several months prior; baseless statements but in their eyes the soldiers' claims were equally baseless.
They mistook the warning call as oppression, their lack of pessimism was a poison to their reason.
Was it their fault?, none had seen what these creatures looked like and even if they had, who would believe that there wasn't safety behind walls so large.
"What's wrong with them!
They should just do as told, do I have to get involved!" Thomas thought as he rode through with no space to stop his horse.
The crowd now stood in a state of confusion.
"The wall is going to come crashing down, just look at it, there are cracks!!
They weren't lying!!" A man said as he ran from the wall's direction, he forced his way through the crowd.
The crowd began murmuring.
"That's a lie-"
"It's true look!" A woman said whilst shading her eyes with ner palm and looking at the wall.
The cracks were barely visible from that distance due to it not having the depth nor width of the one on the other side.
But distinguishable from the other surface level cracks on the crust, as it went across the entire length of the wall.
"Yes that's it, the wall is going to fall run!!!" The soldier screamed, finally Instilling the panic he had avoided.
The panic spread like wildfire, those who still opposed were ignored as they took now succumbed to the fears.

"Tch" [Gallop Gallop]
"What a mess, panic is the last thing we need in this situation." Thomas thought as he kept on riding, taking some turns and soon reaching the main street of the town.
Weaving through the wagons and the people in dismay he took a left turn then stopped his horse in front of a building.
"Sir what's going on?" A guard at the towns edge asked.
"We're short of time, get to the guard house, mobilise as many guards as possible and aid my men in evacuating the townsfolk.
Just do as I say I'll explain everything later." Thomas opened the door of the building and made his way in.
"Sir, wait I'm not understanding you…." The soldier followed Thomas in, trying to get a word from him.
Shortly after they both exited the building, Thomas was now equipped with two vases tied around his waist and three spears on his hand, with a toothpick in his mouth.
"As I said, I'll explain it to you later.
Just make sure to get everyone evacuated." Thomas said to him.
"But I'm just your average guard sir, I don't have a say in this." The guard said.
Thomas looked like he would rather be anywhere than there at that moment, he took a good look at the guard then stuck his arm in the neck region of his armour.
From there he removed a chain with a card mended to it. "Here, this is my tag don't misplace it." Said Thomas as he mounted the horse once again.
The soldier looked at his hand, in shock of what he had just gotten; a corporal's dog tag.
By the time he looked up Thomas was already gone.
Thomas rode through the town, back from whence he came, he was opposing the huge amounts of people trying to escape.
Almost everyone was roped in the evacuation, except a few. "This is our punishment for rejecting the light!
Don't run accept it, its shall be worse if you try to dodge it.!"
Those who worshipped the light fanatically, their numbers had dwindled over time but yet to fizzle out completely.
"Those guys are still around?!" Thomas thought as he switched streets to one heading eastwards outside of town.
He curcumvented through the outskirts to avoid the crowd, and not much longer he reached the base of the wall once more.
The two soldiers were still waiting as he commanded. "HUGHES!" Thomas screamed at the top of his lungs.
She looked down from the top of the wall
and he looked at her. "SIR!" She replied.
"EVERYTHING GOOD UO THERE?!!" Thomas screamed.
"IT'S EYES ARE ON US, IT MIGHT START CHARGING AT ANY MOMENT!" Hughes replied.
"Tch!
JUST FIRE WHEN I SIGNAL YOU TO!" Thomas said.
"WHAT?!" Hughes asked.
Thomas ignored his response, he passed over a spear to each of them.
"Get on a horse let's go." Thomas said to them.
"Where to?" One of the soldiers asked.
"Did the army's training regime change? Why do you people ask so many questions.
Get on a horse, we're heading over to the other side."
