Felix listened intently to the morning news report filtering through the speakers of his sleek car. He was impeccably dressed in a white, high-end Giorgio Armani suit, the matching pocket square and shoes completing the polished look. A glance at the clock on the dashboard sparked a flicker of worry in his eyes. With a silent thought of Chioma and the empty stomach she might have, Felix made a spur-of-the-moment decision.
Without a second thought, he steered the car towards a nearby luxury supermarket, the polished vehicle gliding effortlessly over the smooth pavement. The screech of brakes was a foreign sound here, but it was quickly replaced by the gentle purr of the engine.
Felix grabbed a trollery and wheeled it past colourful piles of fruit. He picked out golden pastries that looked like curvy moons, a carton of orange juice as bright as sunshine, and a box of blueberry muffins.
Within the opulent aisles of the supermarket, Felix navigated his way with purpose, his keen eye selecting only the finest of breakfast offerings. The salesgirls at the supermarket were delighted to see Felix and happily greeted him, offering assistance with his purchases.
In no time, Felix completed his shopping, and a courteous security officer helped him carry the bags of food to his car. Although he wanted to deliver the food directly to Chioma, he knew he had a meeting in the next thirty minutes, so he headed straight to the office. He arrived at Moon Corporation on time and made his way to his spacious office after exiting the designated elevator. Inside, he found Peter holding a few urgent documents that required his signature.
'Sir, you should have informed me that you were taking up the responsibility of bringing breakfast,' Peter remarked.
Felix lifted the two large bags of food in his hands and replied, 'You will be delivering them to Chioma.'
While speaking, Felix strode towards the glass coffee table, its sleek surface currently occupied only by a lone Apple laptop. Seeing the emptiness, Felix decided it was the perfect temporary spot to place the breakfast bags until Peter could take them to Chioma.
Peter placed the documents on Felix's desk before approaching the coffee table. As he saw the bags filled with tempting and delectable food that could make anyone's mouth water, Peter momentarily blanked out before turning to Felix with adoring eyes.
'Sir Felix, you are truly amazing. I wish I were in Chioma's shoes,' Peter exclaimed, his voice tinged with awe as he eyed a particularly tempting strawberry cake nestled amongst the other treats. 'Do I have a chance with you, Sir? I promise to be loyal and never betray you... just deliver breakfast to me every morning,' Peter continued, his eyes fixed on the mouthwatering treats.
Felix, who was signing the documents brought by Peter, furrowed his brows and replied coldly, 'I assume you have a death wish. Don't touch them until I instruct you to.'
'Oh, I can't become a girl, even though I wish I could be like Chioma right now,' Peter joked. He glanced at the bags and was tempted to devour the food in them but eventually left them.
Felix didn't raise his head from the document as he coldly remarked, 'If you want to transform into a girl, you're free to try,' he finally remarked in a cold tone, 'It's a free country. But with your unattractive face, no man will buy you food.'
Peter laughed in embarrassment and said, 'That's all right. If I wanted to be a girl, I would need a good plastic surgery in South Korea with my current looks.'
After finishing signing the documents, Felix handed them back to Peter. He then picked up a report from his desk, getting ready for the meeting.
As Felix prepared to leave for the meeting, Peter couldn't help but ask curiously, 'Why don't I send the food over? Your girlfriend is sometimes unpredictable. She might reject the food if she has already had breakfast.'
Felix paused for a moment, his expression unreadable. 'Deliver them,' he finally instructed before striding out through the opulent doorway, his polished shoes barely making a sound on the plush marbled floor, and heading towards the meeting room.
