In the evening of the next day, Nyssa sat in Zuleika's hut, massaging her palms. Her arms hummed from magic drills with the Chief.
She sighed. There was pain in everything. And she had to bear it all.
Today, Leilani didn't accompany her and she went home alone.
On her way to Zuleika's hut, she found Kai standing at a corner. As if he had known the time she would come.
Nyssa slowed down on her footsteps as she walked closer.
His back was to her, with broad shoulders bare as he was shirtless.
He then turned when he heard a sound and his eyes met hers.
"What are you doing here?"
His brows furrowed, "I can't walk around the village now?"
Nyssa folded her arms loosely. "That's not what I meant."
Kai's mouth twitched, "Alright."
He then looked toward the horizon. Then said softly,
"I told you we would speak that day…"
He glanced at her,"…but until now, we haven't had the time."
Nyssa looked at him only briefly before her gaze drifted away.
